need 7100 help

Well if its a fox 12 which I think it is... its 19.10 collapsed so id have to move the bump down .85? I don't understand how u had a 10 on there when at ride height the mounts are 27 inches apart and that foa 10 is about 28 in extended. So that would give you 1 inch of downtravel

im sure it did only have 1" of down travel. the front end was set up to end up running deaver coils, with a 10" shock.. as in for jeepspeed. i never bought the deaver coils so thats just how it sat..

do fox shox dimensions change from 2.0 to 2.5 bodies as do kings?

if the shock is 19.10" collapsed then yes you would need to space either the bump itself down or the bump pad up.. wither way it will need to change.

remember to double check the measurement when at full bump on your shocks.. make sure you leave a lil extra just for a " just in case" i think right now it has between 3/8 and 1/2 and inch left in the shock at full bump.

remember that i built the truck around a 10" shock as for 1700 rules. the front end should have had a 4" deaver coil in it but like i said i never bought the coils soo it never got them

Ooohhh okay now it all makes sense... so I'm. Trying to decide between a 12 or 14 standard body 12 would be 4 in down and 8 up or 14 would be 8 in down and 7 in uptravel. This is gonna be kind of a multipurpose rig

well 8 +7 is 15 so thats not gonna work lol.
i couldnt tell you what the #'s would be because i dont know the static height measurement like what the length between shocks mounts is at ride height. at full bump from the shock its set for should be around 18.5+-

so whatever the up travel is from ride height is.. it is. but you can change that strictly on the coil height by changing coils.. IMO up travel is always a good thing..
what are you goin to do for limit straps?

Lol too many numbers floating around with shock lengths.. strap it an inch from fully extended to leave room for the shock to stretch... after taking out the coil and cycling everything

What steering and what track bar does it have on it? If track bar is not over the axle and steering isnt completly custom.....I find 14" travel hard to believe. Not calling Ratboy a liar, just some people excercise one side not the whole axle at once. CrazyJim had stock steering and a RE xtreme duty track bar and it didn't cycle anywhere near 14"....I know....I cycled it.

I vote for cycle it and measure yourself just so YOU know the number you are using.

I was actually just going to come in here and say the same thing. 14" isn't really possible in the front end with Y steering and an UTA track bar mount. You'll end up binding way before you hit 14. Not to mention unsafe, think about how far your axle will swing. This is why you want more up travel than down, the uptravel is a safer travel number, with less bind, less bumpsteer, and overall better performance.

Yeah your right I am going full custom steering soon. Until then I'm gonna get set up with some 12 in standard body 7100s. With 12 short bodies in the rear.

...,I vote for cycle it and measure yourself just so YOU know the number you are using.
To give an example: I just cycled my truck.
Right side droop only: a little over 11.5 inches.
Both sides at full extension: Rt. side. 9.5" Lft. side 10.5"
And yeah, it was the track bar that hung up on the right.
