I probably wouldn'thave much use for travelling long distances away from my fortress. Or at the least, I wouldn't have much need for doing so in through populated areas when they may be coming out. That's why I have a Jeep. Forget armor, adds too much weight, I'll get stuck too much and break too much stuff. If anything, I'd just do basic armor (similar to Thor quarter panel guards over most of the Jeep, if at all) and stay the hell away from the zombies.

No such thing (assuming the interstate is reasonably clear of dead bodies/abandoned cars), LA is 3 hrs each way, Vegas is about the same, as is San Diego. Besides, like I said, I would just stay outside of populated areas likely to have Zombies if that was necessary. Either that or make up a fortress near the populated area.

Monkeys and clowns will never band together. They have too much resentment from years of competing for the spot light in the circus.

That's true. It'd have to be quite a haul to not make a 10 hr round trip. For those remote people, I could see that happening to.

I'll take my 1948 IHC flatbed, put metal 7 foot bedsides on it with a drop down ramp at the back and gun slots, get all my friends with guns, and go to town runnin them over and get the hell out of town. Have someone follow me in my MJ with a huge front bumper, 4 foor bedsides. I'd have a browning .50 cal in the bed, along with 3 more people with assult rifles.

You could run them all over but they'd just follow until you ran out of fuel. I suppose you could lock down until daylight. As long as the Zombies couldn't figure out how to get in or disable you from the outside.

Honestly.... I'd do this. Ar-15 w/tactical light Glock 21 as my sidearm, plenty of ammo, and a lightly modded deuce 1/2. Be good to go with hours of fun!

I think the M113A3 would be a better option, than the M1. It holds less fuel, can get up to 50 MPH, has a longer range (300-350mi). All hatches and doors can be combat locked from the inside and there is enough room on the inside for 6-8 guys plus storage. Its not heavily armored like the M1 is but then again, I'm hoping the zombies aren't smart enough to operate an AT-4.

I work next door to the 1st Tank BN here on 29 Palms. I look out the door and there they are. I wonder how hard it would be to steal one and learn to drive it when the zombies attack...or God forbid, the tank crews go zombie and drive the tanks!!

if the zombies come i have my XJ, enough weapons and ammo to feed them for a good long while. my wife is a Marine too and is VERY good with firearms. all i have to do is make the 11 drive to my dads place in Tallahassee, and id be pretty well set. the jeep would be fitted with armor, lighting, long range fuel, kid seat for the boy, my survival boxes (i already have those). i think id stay away from the roof turret. not my style (unless a mini gun, mr a .50 is there

holds 25 of your buds or a small Jeep. Has a great turret mounted weapons system (20mm or .50 cal) and if the zombies get to be to much just launch out to sea! Works great unless zombies learn to swim.
