NAXJA vs Zombies

My XJ is part of my Zombie Survival Escape Equipment (ZSES for short).

My g/f and I have constant arguements about it though. She keeps telling me ditch the jeep, and use bicycles. Her argument is that bicycles are very quiet, and the Zombies won't here it. But if you have a crowd of zombies who XXXXing cares they'll overtake you. IMO you just blast through the XXXXers. Drive far enough away from civilization that only a few might hear you, protect yourself well and shoot any that you see.

She also doesn't agree with the use of guns, and insists on bows / arrows, swords, etc.

The only thing that would worry me if this did happen, is would a .22lr penetrate the head and kill the zombie? I have a 22lr conversion on my AR15 (also shoots 223), and probably 5,000 rds of 22lr vs 1,000 rds of 223. So it'd be so much easier to stock up with 22lr... but then again for any shot past 100 yrds I'd prefer to use the 223...

xj's + zombies + guns = naxja 4tw

And I will say Ni to you until you bring me a shrubbery!

Here is the Zombie-fighting XJ
It looks like hell, but it was fun making it.
That's perfect!! I gave it a 10 =).

I would drive my XJ around with the windows down and have my 3 teen kids fight at the top of their lungs... the fighting's usually rare in reality, but it'd certainly make them zombies run for cover! And I'd just wheel right over any stragglers.

Just to be clear, is it Ok to drive in 4H for extended periods, as long as you are driving over the rotting flesh of the living dead?

As long as the flesh is rotting, so you aren't driving on a completely solid surface such as hard pavement, you're good to go. And if you have the NP242 fulltime transfer case, you can even drive over solid zombies.

i would attach lawm mover blades to my wheels. and magnify my daylighters so that I would they would set things on fire when I turn them on. I would probably have get like 6in titanium spikes on my tires so they would shred/impail the zombie as I drove over them.

zombie apocalypse is imminant!
all the carnage sounds great but in all practicality id switch out the glass and bolt on some steel cage on the outside, you would have to have run flats for sure, the roof mount is a good idea but def have a way to close it securely. skid plates would be nice, no one likes geting out and prying a skull ripe with necrosis from your crossmember. a biig bush bar is a deal breaker and having surated bits like a push-pull lumberjack saw from corner to corner would be good to keep them from using it to hold on to, if were talking enraged monkey virus zombies (28 days later/resident evil) who still have most motor function and can run. also things like first aid, water and 2 meters of nylon tube for syphoning from abandoned cars. are a must. extra power for lights would be great. the window washer think could work..mine shoots back on the windscreens of tailgaters :) oh! and guns guns and molotov cocktails (if you can spare the gas). and i guess the best advise is, always wear sensible shoes, cuz you never know when youll need to run from a brain hungry hord of undead. people with cb radios can meet and form a roving caravan of (re)death dealing, brain scattering zobicidal maniacs. like any disaster plan, flood/earthquake/tornado/aliens/zombies/recession you gotta be ready when shit hits the fan!

Have to disagree with some of that. Roof rack/door handles/bumper hoops etc shaved off so there are no hand holds. No roof penetrations at all. Sealable firing ports at all widows. All glass replaced with safety glass or polycarbonate, covered by expanded metal. Extended range fuel tank. Armored radiator(very very important, watch the killdozer video) ARB style front bumper with the brush guards cut off(no hand holds, remember?) Filtered cabin air inlet(with HEPA filters, not exactly NBC, but every little bit helps)

I'm currently watching "28 days later" and learning their tactics and stuff. Gotta prepare, but I'm a procrastinator:doh:

Question is ... are the zombies slow or are they fast? Do they still retain some sort of reasoning abilities?

I've seen plenty of movies where zombies are slow and dumb; plenty where zombies are fast and smart.

Our only hope would be for a He Is Legend type scenario. They can't come in out in the day and we have a fortress.

For longer periods of travel, where you were away from your armored compound, would you be safe in your armored XJ?
