I might be moving to Nashville for a job.. still waiting out details..
How is Nashville divided? as in: east side is nice west side aint? something like that.. can you all tell me so i can start looking for a room mate or place to stay..

thanks
Mark

nashville is a great place. there are some rough neighborhoods, but they're spread all over. west nashville has some rough spots, east nashville has some not so rough spots that are getting better every day. south nashville is generally pretty nice. we have a diverse population, and there are a lot of areas where a second language will come in handy, for sure. you kinda hafta make judgements about your individual neighborhood once you see it. don't agree to move into a place before you see it!

lol i learned my mistake by doing that before.
I was on CL looking at place to live..
i havent seen one yet that says .. "must own Jeep" lol

I think Mark is looking for an area where a PINK Jeep Is accepted, to save time looking for a new B/F

Re: Nashville

South side (off 65), in my opinion is the better part of town...

Get down past I-440 into the real south part of Nashville or into the north part of Brentwood down near Old Hickory Blvd.

Parts of east and north Nashville are pretty rough. It's kind of a matter of finding the little pockets of "good" in certain parts.

Where would the job be. You may want to consider where you look based on your job location.

If you want more specifics, or want any opinions on places you are looking, just ask.

ok heres yur scoop on nash. I have lived here all my life and every side of town. stay awat from north nashville, East is ok as long as ya get away from town toward madison or rivergate. West, same thing as long as ya dont get to close to town its ok. South, better know spanish ( i wish i knew how to speak it). but once again if ya stay further from town the better, Now like Dirk said Brentwood is about the best place around here anymore. Ill say i like them Brentwood and bellevue people. I do most of my work out there and never have a prob with em paying the bill..

Cottontail lives in Brentwood? Well hell.. thats awesome! i dont know where this place is i ll be working at but i hope to hear something really fast. The company seems to be moving really fast and might want me to start next week.. who knows
I hope so.. i need jeep money again!
LOL

Yep..I'm in Brentwood...

Moved the south side of Nashville (2 miles north of the Brentwood line off Old Hickory) in '99. Moved to Franklin (about 8 miles south of my old place) in 2002. Then moved to Brentwood (4 miles north of the Franklin house) in 2007. Had great experiences down here. Never more than a couple minute drive to anything...can still be in downtown Nashville in about 15-18 minutes, and can be to the airport in about 20-22 minutes.

Can't complain at all.

Oh, and most of Brentwood was built when there was a charter stating that all homes needed to be built on a minumim of an acre, so the land is spacious and houses aren't on top of each other...

i found some apartments in Brentwoods.. may look there if i get the job.
Thanks
Mark

just moved a friend of mine into the bellview (sp?) area. lots of nice apartments if your looking to get a feel for the place and where you wanna live. apts are pretty affordable too.

I was trying to save him from you.:moon: Actually, I think Clarksville is ok.

Smyrna is a good place to live. It's close enough to Nashville but far enough away too.:D

High2by lives far enough away that when Adam and I showed up for his axle, we parked the truck at wrong house and peoples house we were at never even knew we were there. We called Mark and said.. do you own a car and a blazer? he said nope..
Backed the truck out of the drive way and drove 100 feet further to find his place.
now dats funny...

Ok this place is off of West End Ave by the Essence Healthcare? does that make sense?
Brentwood is 16 mins away..
crossing my fingers to get this job

isnt there a 4wd parts store in Nashville?

Mark

Yes...4 Wheel Parts is located on Nolensville Road at the Harding Place intersection. Not the greatest part of town...but easily accessible from downtown or I-65.

there are also a few 4x4 specialty shops in the area. i know of one in murfreesboro, one in lebanon, and one in gallatin. i prefer to help small businesses when i can, if i can. the shop i know in gallatin is the best around, IMHO. he's not super cheap, but i've seen work done by everyone around here, and his stuff keeps me saying 'wow'. but in a good way.
