my trip to URE

Nice. I need to get up there soon.

Lol, my problem is everytime I go, I bring the camera but nobody wants to take pictures, and I am not one of those morons who stops and takes pictures and holds up traffic on the busy days. Always seems to be like that when I go, group of guys who are either bone stock, or on some 31s, trying to go up daniel, stopping every 5 feet and taking pictures, not sure if any of them are on here, but if you are, you know who you are.

I feel your pain though, my last trip to URE I was running some majorly short shocks, had only owned the xj a week and was the shakedown/breakdown run lol

The PO had put what look like lift blocks on the shock mounts on the axle, to "extend the shock" really awful, and really not functional. Finally putting the new shocks on this weekend (I been working alot and live in an apartment, finally getting it out here where I can use some tools, HOORAY) Still wheeled well, but definately some scary moments lol

Sounds like BPE's on the shocks to me. I love taking pictures and don't care if people think I'm a moron but I usually an the leader and never get pictures of my rig going up the trail. So I have cut back on the pictures. Plus I don't have a decent camera.

Nah not BPEs, I may have to take a picture sometime this weekend, they are about 4 inches tall. Just a steel block that attaches from the axle to the shock. I should say, its not to extend the shock, its more to save the PO from buying decent shocks when he upgraded the lift kit, has alot of high end parts, but guy really cheaped out on alot of things too. Also, they are only the the front shocks. The rear is actually limited in its movement much more. Should've fixxed it before even wheeling it, but bought it opening weekend of URE, took it out, beat the hell out of it, nothing broke on it, did get some fresh body damage and broke a taillight, but otherwise no breakage that I was definately expecting. Drove the jeep around yesterday for the 2nd time since the URE trip, should be getting everything fixxed on friday in time to head to the Flats benefit.

I enjoy taking pictures myself, but I won't make others wait while I get out, walk around my vehicle, take 3-5 pictures, talk about how awesome it looks, drive 5-10 feet to the next small obstacle, repeat, while there is a group behind me. Was 3 vehicles in his group, all doing the same thing, took them 30 minutes to get around the hairpin turn area on daniel. To be fair, they were Isuzu owners...

hey is CORE still around? i used to wheel with those guys when i lived there years back.
They used to ride Uwharrie all the time...
I was there when they plowed Daniels down, there used to be a bad ass turn that was rutted bad.. Kodak rock was huge! Now it looks like it got split in two..
When i left they opened some trail by the river..
Since i ll be living in Columbia SC i ll have to go there again for old time sakes!
