My new project

Curious question John...

With a new rig all built like that, are you worried about getting bored?

I've known a few people that have had very built vehicles like that and ended up saying they had more fun in their more moderately built vehicles. The complaint was that every trail they ran was suddenly too easy, and it was hard to find trails that could actually present them a challenge. They could of course still find challenges by travelling to Moab and such, but got to do that like once a year.

Any worries there?

Good question... and the answer is "kind of" :)

In all honestly, I kind of feel that way already in my XJ... but this is too good of an opportunity to pass up /w the mag. and sponsors behind me. Once this rig is completed and I catch up financially (I'm still buying the Atlas, wheels, tires, coils, etc.) I'm thinking I may just build a very mild XJ /w 31's, good shafts, lockers and armor to have fun in around here and haul the family around more comfortably.

You must be in heaven John!!

Yes, the "idea" has evolved a bit. The fact that some parts are getting donated/sponsored has allowed me to splurge a little in other areas. I sold my D44 for approx. $500 less than it's costing me to build the D60. Bottom line is it's MY rig and I'm gonna build it how I want to and the opportunities that have come my way have allowed me to do more of that.

Is that a fuel cell tank or just a normal interior mountable tank?

It's the GenRight Comp. stretch tank. It's basically a replacement for the stock tank that allows the rear axle to be moved back approx. 6". It's slightly smaller and has a different shape that allows more room for the pumpkin.
