My new home

Well...it feels like I've been spewing on and on about moving to CO for a while now. I finally leave for good in 2 weeks. We spent the last week looking for a house to rent and my gal had some interviews and an offer. So we have jobs, a place to live and tons of stuff to explore. Who wants to buy my house?

Woodland Park will be the new home. Hopefully I will be able to meet up with some of you and learn how to drive off road w/o wetting myself.

Lawn Cher...haven't yelled your way in a while...sorry man. If we can't hook up before I go then you and your better half will have to come out there sometime. (I had to squeeze a few days of fishing in between looking at houses. Here's some pics on the Taylor below the dam.)

If anyone's ever fished the Hog Hole just below the dam you know how big they are. I had 2 break off earlier in the day. I wanted a sweet pic of me holding it up but this will have to do. 20 or so inches, incredible colors.

So did you just want to get out of the city or is there a different reason for moving? I'm in the same boat as you I'll be moving in two weeks to Ann Arbor MI so my girlfriend can get her MBA. So good luck with the move. I just can't wait to get outta the damn city.

I had a lot of reasons. Tired of Saint Louis. I have summers off and it's too humid and overgrown to do a lot of camping. If you trout fish, you'll drive an hour or two to get to a place where a lot of others will be as well. I don't have much family here. I was just kinda going through the motions at work. I was at a large middle school with 1300 students. There were kids at the end of each year that I never saw before. My philosophy of being a teacher will be better applied to a small district where I can know all the kids, see them in the community and hopefully have a bit more of an impact than just the 8 hours in the day allows. Woodland Park is about 7000 people and the feeling of "community" has been really neat. I know there will be bad things there too. I will be more visible in the eyes of the community and have to act professionally/accordingly. Probably won't be able to run to the store and grab a gallon of milk w/o it taking 30 minutes. God help me if I piss off the mailman. I am learning that the move is VERY stressful. Hard to make that step. I guess if I screw up and it's the wrong decision, it's much easier to come back. I don't think that will be an issue though. I wish you and her luck on the move. Hang in there...I feel your pain.
