My Jeep...from a GM man's perspective

We're a total jeep family, counting the kids and girlfriends, 3 XJ's, 4 TJ's and a ZJ, all 97 and 98's. We've also had 3 YJ's. Common tools, common parts, factory service manuals on all of them, vehicles maintenance simplified. I'm going back and forth between another TJ w/4.0, a 98/99/2000XJ or a 98ZJ but I also want a 4 door wrangler sahara.

Im diehard GM but there is something about a Jeep. They are ugly little SUV's and they have the appeal of the 88-98 GM Trucks. It looks like you could chunk a hand grenade at them and when the smoke clears it would be standing there askin if thats the best you could do. I daily drive a lifted 02 Regular Cab Z71 and im looking for a cheap XJ right now to wrench and weld on.

I know thats why ive waited to so long to buy a second money pit I cant own a vehicle and leave it stock, it just isnt possible. They suck all my money from me!

I grew up under the impression that fords and jeeps were the only good cars to buy. Then I started working on stuff. I learned quickly that everything breaks down. nothing is truly bullet proof. You just have to find what you like. I love my XJ. Nothing beats the practicality, and the all out ruggedness. And I actually find the thing very comfortable. But one of the reasons why i'm an XJ fan all the way is my mom's 89 laredo. 335,000+ miles on the clock, orginal motor, never rebuilt, and the jeep has been rode hard and put up wet, and it's still her DD. You just can't argue with how amazing these things are. The only other vehicle I have, and will never get rid of, is my 85 GMC sierra. That thing is a tank. Three deer dead in two months, and not a scratch on the front bumper LOL

I guess you guys had to come up with a new way to hunt in CA, what, with all the gun laws?

Ya know, I would be offended, but it's just so true. Nothing is sadder then when you can't put more than three rounds in a shotgun. Or you look at a california intended magazine for a glock or sig sauer that a has a line around it showing you how much more mag capacity you would have if you lived somewhere else.
