My high lift mount...

'Tank,

...got mine up on my ConFer WITH a lock...so far so good....
What ya use for the textured stuff around your wheel wells? I think your rig looks sharp.... don't worry about the "..... mine doesn't have a undented blah blah blah..." crowd; isn't the XJ's strength the ability to look good AND wheel hard??? I.E. hit the trail on sat. day, wash it down if that's your thing; U and the missus go out on the town sat night... or maybe I've missed the mark....

I washed it cause I had a date friday night... didnt wanna have nasty vehicle ya know? Thats actually Line-X on the bottom of it. got it done for free essentually.... had some $ left over after some fool backed into my jeep and squished a fender and part of the door. I pounded the door dents out a little bit and had them coevered in Line-X... cant even tell there was a dent.

Ahh i c.. rust proofing the bottom of mine little bit by bit ie as i yank tranny, x-case etc to get to the space ... thats a good alternative to 'whackers, TJ flairs, etc. as far as protection from kicked up crap goes. nice work.

Interesting mount idea; I thought about doing something similar a couple of months back, but ended up taking a somewhat different route (click photo for full details):

Nifty to see how it would've worked, though. Nice job!

BTW, here's a clue for the 'shiny=mallcrawler' crowd: easiest way to tell if it's a mallcrawler or not is to look *UNDERNEATH* the rig. No underbody dings, scrapes, scratches, etc. and it's a pavement princess. All a straight body says is that the driver does his best to *avoid* hitting things in the first place, not whether or not he actually wheels.

Ya... I dont have a drill press so I'd be drilling by hand... thus the PITA ;)

just go buy a cable bike lock. loop it through the jack and around a cross bar. done. if its too long, then run it through a hole further from the bar its looped around. but by having your jack in 3 places and having to lock it outside on the roof and all this is going to make using your jack a very frustrating event for the jeeps stuck behind you on a trail. i know id be pissed to be behind somebody who had to do all that BS just to pick their rig up off a rock and get out of my way...

Just because it shines don't make it a mall crawler. My website shows mine sparkling in about 50% of the photo's , but the other half and the videos show her in all her glory. Ain't a damn thing wrong with washing it. Hell I keep a nice shining coat of black paint on my suspension at all times. Looks sweet if you ask me. " Bling don't hurt a thing " :)

Ryan, I did the same thing for mounting my Hi-Lift. What I did for a lock was took on of the bolts and took an angle grinder to it and gave it two flat sides to drill. then just used a small master lock. Worked out pretty good, will try to take pics, when I can.

I've been trying to find some of those barbed plastic plugs to replace them with but no luck. probably have to order them

They're in the "HELP tree" sometimes. I know Advance and AutoZone carries them cause I've bought them there.

DT

Czech your local Tru-Value/Ace hardware store? They're in the aisle woth all the nuts in bolts in the plastic yellow trays.

i had my jack stolen from my roof rack last year. id drill a hole through one of the bolts and put a lock on it. or put a bike lock through it and around one of the rails on the rack. seems like a PITA if you wheel very much. but by the looks of your rig its a mall crawler.

holy hell that shits funnay!
