now if my GPS have a USB connection couldnt I just plug it into a GPS headrest monitor and show my stuff up on the head monitor ?

WTF is a GPS headrest monitor?
If it´s "just a normal monitor" you can connect to a playstation or dvd player it can´t handle any gps signals - if it´s some sort of computer w/ a usb port it can PERHAPS use your signals. You need some sort of software to connect the PC to the GPS and you need digital maps on the PC to show your position.

In my rig, I have to run a laptop computer and a "Liliput" moniter. My Magellan hooks to the computer and displays on the Lilliput. I run Oziexplorer software for mapping. Not sure if this helps in your question, but I don't think you are going to be able to hook directly to your display unit.

I run an old Panasonic Toughbook CF-25 that I bought off of E-bay. Holds up well to all the beating around it takes.
