Hello guys,

I just picked up my first XJ on monday and I am currently getting her back in order after the previous owners mishap

Apparently this poor girl was borrowed by the wife who forgot to put her in park... then stepped out and watched the XJ smash into to house and then venture off in to the woods before parking it self in a tree...

I picked it up for a smoking deal.

98 with 110k on the clock...

My Wife Was ready to kill me.... but only a few days and a few trips to pull-a-part later and she is starting to look like an XJ again.

DAY 3

The interior is very clean.

Everything is straight and the airbags did not deploy.

She is getting a 3" lift and a set of 31" 10.50's very soon ... a rock crawler bumper up front and a tailbone style swing away out back. once all the body work is fixed or replaced then its off to the painters.

I could not watch this old girl go to the crusher. I am glad I decided to save her... she has been a great little truck so far.

Thanks for looking
Thomas

Welcome. Jeep's looking good.

Welcome aboard! GL and happy parts hunting!

It's good to see another one saved. They belong in the woods but just not "in" a tree. :D

Nice save!!

Sweet find man and it good to see some one raising one from the dead. id like to point out that you now have an addiction that can only be solved with more parts. and bigger wheels. and bigger lifts......:)

welcome brother.

sweet.. just dont ruin it like Kris did on the lasr,,,
:)

I am sure there is a story behind that statement :D

I just ordered my lift and after finding the door and a few trim pieces I need It will be off to paint....

Welcome... and great find on the XJ!
hope to see you out on the trails soon...

Anyone have a Drivers Door for 97+?

...i have a maroon RR door from a late model with no glass, if you wanted another color to add to your assortment :)

Did a tune up this weekend. she is purring like a kitten now. Runs very well. My shocks and coils should be arriving today.

My paint guy backed out on me. so I am going to black primer the hood and any spots that are scrapped. once I find someone who needs some IT work that can paint we will work something out. I am probably just going to scratch it anyway :D

in all seriousness I saw a wrangler done in truck bed liner and it actually looked pretty darn good.... it was like a satin black with texture. might be an option :D

Ya know I am digging the flat tan or flat olive military colors with black accents.... :D

and pull apart only has 96 and older xj's right now....

Edit:

ya know after thinking about it ... I think I am going to do a flat color. very easy to fix if it gets scratched. I really do not want it to look showroom quality... If I scratched it I would be pissed and want to fix it.

Flat tan with Black rims and trim. (think desert storm hummer style)
OR
Original AMC Willy green with black wheels and trim :D

leaning more towards the olive....

What do you think?

You can't go wrong with either one in my book.

I think I am going to paint a spot on each side and see which I like better on the truck ...

I am leaning towards the tan at the moment... that will change by tomorrow...

lift kit arrived today... should be a fun weekend.
