My camper build

I started a quick little blog to document our camper resto.

www.ourcamper.net

Just in case anyone gets bored and wants to read our progress. Don't worry, the Jeep is getting fixed too! Tax refund+bonus=wheeling

Got the water pump and t-stat replaced. This week, I'll be replacing my shift solenoids. Next will be TRE's and front brakes. I plan to make it to at least one get together this year!

Make sure you give it the "Presidential treatment". I don't much care for tents.

The goal is to set it up according to the original floorplan. Basically, the kitchen is in the front (by the tongue) and the 'living area' is in the back. I'll hafta draw up a floor plan.

Should be able to sleep 4.

Special features ... hmmmm ..... it'll have a window unit to keep us cool in July and warm in December! I haven't really come up with any fabulous mods. Any ideas?

We're gonna make this camper pimptastic.

The kitchen will be all green, the living area will be a steel grey color. The ceiling will be painted orange. We're going to use the plastic panels from fluorescent lights on the ceiling too, to diffuse the orange so it's not so bold.

I need to get better pics of the paneling we're gonna use.

This is a little more 'steely' in person:

This looks more 'retro green' in person too. You can kinda see the color in the bottom left corner.

Right now, I think the camper is wiring for only 110V. There was a 12V car radio in it at some point; I have the head unit and there is wiring all over the camper.

I'm not an electrician, so I wouldn't know the best way to wire for 12V. I wonder if it'd be worth wiring 12V too? That would mean adding a whole different set of lights and stuff for that.

It would be no problem to put in a small TV and dvd player to watch movies and stuff.

Found some nifty documentation.

1. Shows the trailer wiring. This camper should be ready for 12V system. This explains why there was two sets of wiring to the rear interior light. Right now, it's a 4 pin on the trailer that's all janky. Needs new wiring.

And brochure with basic info including layout. No furnace or potty in mine.

Yeah, it's a smaller bunk for either A) horse jockeys or, B) kids.

I think we'll delete this from our final build as neither me nor my girl are either A or B.

Depending on how long you plan on keeping it. It might be a good idea to go ahead and build it in and just remove the bunk section for now. High resale value and great options down the road.

That's true. We have the hardware (the rails that hold it up) and the bunk itself. Might just put it in and leave it stowed away.

Nothing recent. I've been putting hours into the Jeep so that way I can at least tow the camper, lol.

I hope to get some more demo done to the camper soon.

I'm resurrecting this old ass thread.

No new updates. Now that it's cooling down, we're gonna try and get some work done on it.
