movie " sicko"

I don't see health care as a "Right". There is no reason that a persons ability to pay should influence the care they get. I know that sounds socialist, but that's just my take.

You are right it is left wing comunist socialism. When that kind of pressure was relived from Russia and China look how well they have done. Look at the opposit in Venuswala.

But the problem I don't think you understand is that health care in the US is the best because it's a buisness. We work with those buisnesses to provide them the best products and procedures. This limits their infections and increases overall out come. Now we do have accounts that do mostly Medicade and Medicare patients. Do you think they really get the same care? They don't because Goverment only pays back what they think is enough. So on my eye equipment it means they don't buy the latest greatest equipment and they don't buy updated software. The tubing that has body fluid thru it gets cleaned and re-used. Yuck. It's still safe but they must cut ever corner they can so they buy cheaper supplys and hire cheaper employes.

If and when the fixed cheaper price accurs thru socialized medicine then we will all suffer. At least now the chepo medicare doctors get a trickle down of great stuff but if the best doctors start looking for ways to cut corners then medical supplyers will fill the bill.
Our great people will find more prospourous opportunitys and R an D will go in the toilet.
We just relesed a fantastic new product that only the best eye centers in the world will get. If they were reduced to a medicare type payment they would not buy the great new stuff and we won't develope anymore.

Speaking of FDA redtape. Guess where we do our clinial trials? We do them in Canada on Canadians. After that passes FDA regulations we can do a limited field study on Americans. But only approved medical doctors are allowed in the study. They are demanding bastards (Remember us Americans want the best care) So we still jump thru hoops to make changes and upgrades to the equipment, procedures and software adding up to millions more to the cost. It's all good. We get the best it's just not cheap. Trust me when you or your wife needs care you won't baulk at price.

While I'm on our high cost. Drugs cost more here for many reasons. One reason is that our doctors are busy. If a drug rep shows up he or she better be good looking ,smart, funny, charming and apealling to the doctors staff by buying lunch or donuts. Cute phamacudical reps are called donut girls in the biz. Want to see some super hot foxy ex beuty pagent winners? Then hang out at the front door of a large private medical building and watch the parade of 85K-750 k per year medical/pharma reps walk by. The doctors are too busy to here out anybody that is not on top of the game and these folks come at a high price. You would not belive the guy in Denver that is basically the sales rep/trainer for us. Those kind of highly paid reps make the presidential candidates look and sound like dorks. Thats what our doctors need to get trained, get the best drugs, best equipment and learn the best procedures. They don't have time nor can they take a chance on any thing less. Remember malpractice?
