move to cleveland for 7-10 months

rock and roll hall probably isn't worth the 20 bucks they charge, you'll walk through it in 2 hours.

lots of cool places to eat, check out brassa.

the theatre district if any of that matters.

avoid the flats, specifically the west bank, violence has excalated over there at night, two people shot in the last month.

if you can/want to drive an hour then there's lots more stuff around.

post up when you're around, we'll hook up, I'm only an hour from cleveland.

There is a nice drive movie theater in Straoughsbirg (sp?) a bit south of Akron. Dover has a wood carving museum (Warthers Carvings)that is pretty cool. There is a Jeep show in Canfeild (sp?) coming up about that time.

I'll be there for a while and being further east, I will most likely plan a couple weekend trips for sight seeing instead of a plane ticket back to STL. I'll only need to see my family during thanksgiving and christmas.

I guess I didn't realize that you're going to be around for months.

There's lots of stuff to do in the boonies.

Just south of me is a raft/canoe/camping haven, mohican.

strasburg is cool, but there are drive in's close than that, one is just outside of monroeville.

and gimme a call one day, we'll go wheeling down in wellsville for a weekend/day.
it's only about 2 hours from my place.

I'm going to be in a rush to get my long arm installed before I go, I doubt i'll get it done, but eventually the Jeep will make it there.

how's the winters with snow there? STL is a hit or miss place. we got hit a couple time, s but most was gone within 2-3 weeks if not sooner (gone off roads)

I am sorta worried about it because i have a Detroit in the rear and lockright up front... from my little experience (jeeps been broke every time it snowed last couple years) it wasn't too fun to drive with full lockers.

I drove last winter with a full detroit in the back, just don't be a moron and it's fine.

Snow really depends on where you're at in cleveland. the west side doesn't get terribly bad, just a normal Ohio winter.

The east side is much more likely to get lake effect. Depending on the wind they get an extra inch, or maybe they get an extra 3 feet.
Hard to say with a large body of water so nearby.

honestly though, ODOT mans up on the winter clean up. They run trucks 24/7 if need be, so it's pretty much guranteed that the main roads are open, and that the secondary roads will be cleared the next day.
just make sure there's no exposed steel, it will rust faster than you can think of it. and neverseize everything if you want to get it off easily. it only takes one winter here to wreck the underside of a vehicle if you don't keep up on it.

Eastside Clevelander here(South Euclid), where you going to be?

Manche has the story on snow, Eastside sees an assload more than the west side(had 2 foot+ snow fall on Easter Sunday this year)

If you like nature crap, Cleveland has a nice Metro park system, the Emerald Necklace surrounds it. Lots of very cool stuff down in University Circle, great Art museum, Natural History museum, and so on. Nice little bar down there also, called the Barking Spider, good chill spot.

Some wheelin, ATS is about an 45-50 minutes West for me, and Wellsville is about an hour and a half SE.

The Flats kinda suck lately, West bank is better, but... I dont go much. Your younger you might like it.

Umm... NFL HOF was in Canton last time I went there.

Don't forget the flaming river or the tire dump along I-90 that catches fire every summer.

hmmm, dont know, but I'm sure it will be making way for the Cleveland Clinic, they are taking over...

If your working Downtown, East of that doesnt have alot of decent places to live close by unless you like the Ghetto. Look into Ohio City, its a nice'ish neighborhood close to downtown west of the river. Otherwise, East you will have to go Cleveland Heights, Shaker Hts., South Euclid, or Euclid.
I have a rental in Ohio City, but dont think anything will be available anytime soon.

Is your job finding a place for you to stay? If so let me know, I'll let you know what your in for.

yeah they are going to be renting a couple town homes or the like... I really want one with a garage, so I will be able to finish my stereo over the winter...

thinking about taking air bags out and monitors in.
