Motor swap

Ive seen a couple threds on here bout this but nothing that helps me. Im in the process of swaping in a 4.0 in a 2.5 chassis. I swaped over the frame side brakets from the 4.0 to the 2.5 chassis, get the motor set in there, and the mount holes are off. I can only get on of the bolts to go threw and hold the engine. The brackets fit over the the mounts, they just seen too close together. Who on here has done this swap and what did you do? Ive seached .

Don't know if this helps or not, but I just put a set of engine mounts into a 2.5L YJ. The brackets on the block were too narrow for the aftermarket Kragen special engine mounts. With a little grinder work on the sleeve in the rubber mount and they went right in. Hopefully this helps.

Its not that the mounts are too wide, but too close together in the frame.

CHeck your PM....I think I know what your problem is.

The part # for the XJ/MJ 4.0 mount bracket is 8952 002 4 41. Here’s a pic of it. See where the bolt holes are drilled the whole way over to the left side? YJ/TJ brackets have the hole drilled the whole way to the right, about 1” away.
