Morimoto projector headlight conversion

None. Blue is detrimental to visibility. As Darky mentioned before, 4300k is closest to natural sunlight, it's essentially what we as humans are programmed to see in. If you do some research, 4300K is the brightest you can get. Yes it has some yellow in it, but when you drive behind a pair of 4300k bulbs and a whiter (or worse, color) bulbs, you'll see the difference. Most people eschew the 4300k in favor of 6000k's or worse because they want the fact they're using HIDs to be known to others.

Thats like the pot calling the kettle black.

What, if any benefit is there in having lights in the blue range of the spectrum? I admit to not quite grasping how this is better than white light.
No benefits other than looking cute. There are also draw backs, as mentioned before. Less contrast, less lumens, reduction in poor weather vision(rain, fog, snow), etc.

Maybe 5000k would be a nice compromise. Wish I could try them. Maybe these 4300k's are just a little more yellow than most?

There seems to be some slight variation in the 'color' at each level.
Here is one spectrum:

Another color spectrum:

As you move further towards the ultra-violet part of the spectrum the lumen output goes down. The reason most prefer the 4300k range is because as stated above it is what our eyes are designed to see. The most noticable effect of the higher ranges (bluer light) is the loss of depth perception. This is why you don't see anything above a 5k color temp in an offroad light, it makes it very difficult to tell how far away something is.

My point is in the pictures there are 2 different 'looks' to the same 4300k's. There seems to be a 'blurring' of the line drawn between each division. Which is the real 4300k?

4300k has a very slight yellow tinge but is still whiter than a halogen bulb. 5k is supposedly pure white but every set i've put in that is 5k looks a slightly blue to me. 6k is much too blue for my taste, but i am not sure if the specs differ from one manufacturer to the next.

That is what is seems. It seems that each manufacture has a slight variation when comparing to another manufactures. Someone's 6k looks more 5k'ish or even 8k'ish and anothers 4300k seems more 3k'ish. I agree that the Blue color is NG.

Every MFG is different. Cheap bulbs will vary just between themselves. You boys really need to spend a few weeks over on HIDplanet. What I've learned, is stick with 4300k. The difference between 4300 and 5000 is so negligible in real life, you won't be able to tell any color difference from inside the car. So get the 4300's, and know you also have a few extra lumens.

On another note, I'm reporting this thread to the mods. These are the kind of discussions that make our entire forum look like a bunch of degenerates. All parties should have stopped LONG before 16 pages.

Hi Everyone, This is my first post here. I used to post on JF until my untimely
permban, and I'm on NAXJA all the time. Anyways, I thought I'd share some
pics. Be gentle lol.

He should be banned here also.

Wow. that post dates back 4 years already. My Jeep was awesome back then. Thank’s for the trip through memory lane.
BTW, you didn’t have to visit Jeepin to find out I was banned from JF. I mentioned it here in my first post. Quite a few of us got banned back then, so if you don’t know the details... well... you might as well shut your piehole.

Who is using OEMs? No one. And you smell you farts, that's gross:passgas:.

Who uses OEM parts? Practically everyone until the FX replicas came along. My WJ uses genuine FX bi-xenons, and I’m using oem ballasts courtesy a Cadillac SRX in my XJ. The good news is that the retrofit source now offers some solid alternatives... and yet - despite that - you’ve chosen to select the most ghetto option available. oh, and speaking of farts – stop being such an ass.

38 worthless UY posts.

If anyone is interested in further information you can PM me.

In order to have information to offer you need acquire some first.
This entire thread shows you refuse to accept genuine advice.
What is it - do you think - we will learn from you? How to count to 39?

Thanks for the kind words Yan.

I've had enough of Yan's juvenile behavior. I've since lost interest in the project and will only be making 4 sets of projector conversions (2 of which are for Wranglers) and will not be ordering any more projectors or doing any more conversions. If you want a set, pm me on Cherokee Forum.

If anyone needs to get in contact with me, you know where to find me.

Thank you for your time and enjoy the rest of your day.

There is a perfect example of that genuine advice.

Same here. My 5000k bulbs have a sligt blue hue, i want to go to 4300k.

Too bad you can't follow it.

I already switched from 6000k to 5000k in one set of my Micro DEs, and I still find them to have too much blue. They'll have to go as well. I'll probably pop the stock osrams into my headlights as well. The roads around here are plagued with hosers running blue headlights; I want no part of it.

And yet another worthless post by Urban Yanker, 40 and counting.

200 posts and 31 of them are useless babble from UY. And he complains of 14 pages of useless information. He is the biggest contributor.
32 worthless posts.

CF is the perfect outlet for this kind of discussion. Glad to see you move it over there. They always applaud any Getto fab and are really nice to you too.
That will leave our club members to answer questions for the serious Jeepers.:roflmao::moon:
