i want to add 2 more inches of lift to my 89 xj i have 4.5 inches right now. how would i do that? would i have to get a whole new lift kit?

Need some info on your lift right now....

you running 4.5" coils up front? 4.5" leaf packs in the rear?

add a 2" poly spacer up front (or an ACOS)

add a longer shackle in the rear - or get an AAL that COMPLIMENTS your leaf pack (same arch, same leaf thickness, etc)....

EDIT: if you are not already running long arms, you'll either need a long arm kit or drop brackets for your short arms....you also might need a new track bar, depending on how adjustable your current one is....you might also need longer brake lines, an SYE (if you dont already have one), longer swaybar links, and some steering adjustments (like a drop pitman arm)...hell maybe even longer shocks. Lots to think about.

What size tires? Have you trimmed your fenders? Do you have stock rear shackles? You want cheap rought or you want good stuff?

trin your fenders and run the 35's with the 4.5" lift, thats how mine is setup

i trimmed 1.75" from the frt, and the rear i used the cut and fold method, heres a pic

looks good ill have to do that. whats the cut and fold method? i have a two door so would the cut and fold method work? and do they make after market fender flares that would fit after i cut them that much?

There is a pinch seam in the rear, you cut up to it in a few spots and hammer it in. It's some beating involved! Upgrade your gears and axles first!

now do you have good flex with that set up? do the tires have room to turn?
havent gotten a chance to fuly flex it out but but have done enough to where the frt tire is fully stuffed and there is enough room to turn, as far as flex, clayton long arms and long travel shocks solve that
