MJ values?

I paid $1000 for my rust free 87 pioneer with 220xxx miles about 3 months ago and drove it home 4 hours from Myrtle beach sc to Greensboro nc

I paid $400.00 for an '89 LWB 2WD 4.0/AW4 with a bad motor. Swapped the motor and all is good. I also paid $300.00 (I think) for an '88 SWB 2WD 4.0/BA10 with 1/2 a motor. It appears I like MJ's that don't run...

Mine runs but it sounds like its gonna punch a rod through the block at anytime. Tearing into it right now so carnage piscs will be coming soon.

i traded my 93 civic which i bought for $1000 straight up for a 91 4.0 ax-15 eliminator with 107K on it (i didn't put the z71 sticker on)

Back in 03 paid 1500 for a 90 LWB 4x4 with 125k
07 paid 600 for 9O SWB 4x4 2.5 4spd and AC 143k
87 2.5 5spd LWB 2wd Free

Sold the 90 for 1500 in 2011. I did swap out the motor for a better running 2.5, and swapped it to a 5 spd

Traded the 87 for a detroit locker for my ford 9" NIB

IN my area you can find them ranging from free.. to 7k. I personally look for rust free dent free trucks.. especially the beds

I bought mine up in Canada for 1500$, was way too much but they are very close to IMPOSSIBLE to find up here, in the condition I found mine. 4x4, solid frame, solid floors, solid body, only some minor holes in the rockers.

I got a rust free 87 auto long bed for $550. Everything worked and it ran fine. The same truck could have easily gone for $1500 under different circumstances.

There are sooooo many variables ..... but a good range is $500 to $2000.

Lots of guys will list their trucks well over $2k. Don't be afraid to offer a LOT less than the asking price.

I just sold a 1991 shortbed sportruck with 4.0 and 5 speed for $2400. No rust, minor body damage. In Colorado

You scored!

500 bucks for my 89 LWB 4 cylinder (running at the time)
800 for my 88 SWB 2wd. Got less then a grand into it in 2 years and have racked about 8k miles on it.
400 for my 87 Chief with a blown pukey and 90k miles.
600 for my 91. 179k and rusty but runs and drives perfect!

800 for my ratty ass 91 2wd 4.0/aw4/d35 SWB eliminator. Previous owner paid 600 and put 2-300 in parts into it. I have put 35 thousand miles on it and have about 2500 into it now (specs in signature.)
500 for my scabby looking but clean and mostly straight (for the northeast anyways) 88 2wd 4.0/aw4/d35 SWB Pioneer. It is sitting until I manage to find a 5.9/nv4500 donor in the right year range.

Just paid $4500 for an 87, SWB, 4x4, 4.0L, auto, 3.73 gears, working a/c, 4.5" lift, 33" tires, Bushwaker Flares, 97+ front clip and interior conversion (-cruise and airbags), sliding rear window, decent paint, no rust, no wrecks, w/200K miles.

Weren't these thing like $6k brand new? Crazy!

Bought my short bed 4.0/auto/4x4 for $700 with a clean title, rust free body and fairly decent shape (needs paint)... has a bad fuel pump, interior is nasty and the column is broken... but it's a good start.

My dad always told me that if it moves on it's own under it's own power its worth $1,000. You can start your estimates based on that.

If you think of the value of the engine, tranny, transfer case, axles, and tires that all move? Yeah, it's worth a grand.

I'm happy for you living in a world where that is true, but up here it is different. I bought my BETTER MJ for 500 bucks and drove it home.
