Sorry to see this happened. I've been subscribed and like your build. You now need to chop the top. Was anyone hurt?

was just me. I didn't get a scratch.:roflmao: Still pondering what I might do. leaning towards a cage and wrangler windsheild, to keep it road bond, then maybe a canvas top. Not sure yet. If I come across a good body then I will just swap eveything over.

Well got me a new dd that has no rust, very solid. However will not be swapping over to it going to cut the top off the other and cage it.

New DD...

Then my rough layout for the cage, thinking of going with the idea of the hummer look with a small rhino lined cargo/bed and canvas just around the sitting and either half doors or tube doors. Then the cage tied into the front and rear bumpers and rock rails. Box out the taillights adding led's then tubing the fenders.

Any advice please give being I only know that triangles are strong, any help with what type and size tubing, and what to incorporate into it and all that.
This will now be my straight up trial rig however will still be making it to be able to drive to the trails.

Well did a few things to the new dd since last weekend..
And drove the big jeep back to buddies house, 1 1/2 hr drive that was cold and windy, but it made it and then I got it stuck in my buddies pond but got her out today once I got some more gas in it and got in 4low, it climbed right out and I played in it a few more times, but not going in the middle until I get someone out there that can pull me out if need be...

Awesome thread was the dune pics of silver lake? I am from MI originally and just bought a house back in my home town of Constantine! Hope to move back soon

Then made some adjustments to my steering due to the taper in the knuckle, just put in a misalignment spacer in on the bottom side of the knuckle to fill the knuckle in and keep the bolt from see-sawing and working it self loose and causing my loose steering.

What is this? Is this a replacement for TREs?

It's what the big monster trucks run if that does you anything. Of coarse bigger ones than mine. But I like them some people will tell you other wise, But they can last as long if not longer than tie rod ends. Desert truck racers run them as well.

Alright got a few pics of the work I did while in AL and a couple pics of my brothers rig.
Brother's 1993 Toyota Mini Truck 9'' lift running 38's with 5.13 gears with the 2.2 power plant :rotfl2:

Added rear bump stops and new rs5000 shocks in the rear and the 1 1/2" shackles...

How much fluid that was in my Tcase once I got to AL and pulled it out for the rebuild..

My track bar fix with a double heim...

Replaced both hubs being they were still the orignal from 1993 (and they couldn't hold up with the 37's on)..

Don't forget to put the dustsheild on before the hub is all together.
After went out playing and went through some nice mud holes...

Well went back down for another month, mainly to get my tools and rig back up here, being I'll be sticking around for a few more months after all. So took some pics of the local trails down there. And as well as I ended up getting a overhaul on the 8.8 bearings just before I drove back on up. These are some of the local trails and mild ones at that being I had my mom's with me and she no like much, and is terrified of the ruts.
