Any DIN sized radio/cd should fit and if you drill one hole in each side of the factory bracket you can mount most of them to the manufacturers holes. I have a Kenwood chassis mounted that way and using a factory/aftermarket wiring harness it's a plug-in to the factory wiring.
It depends on how much rewiring you want to do. A 1987 radio will NOT mate up the the chassis harness in an '88. I'm sure that '88 and '89 are the same, and probably '90. I don't know if the '91 and newer use the same chassis harness connector as the '88 and '89.
I'm guessing that '86 and '87 are the same but I haven't got factory radios from both years so I can't compare them.
