MJ pics

Well, I'm following this build closely too. :) Looks great! I've got a few questions if you don't mind. First, what mounts are you using for the motor? they look like purchased mounts and not custom. Are you happy with them and do you think they'll work well? How about the frame reinforcements? It looks like you either plated the side of the frame with plate steel or used a piece of box steel with the top and bottom cutoff except for the front portion. The plate is plug welded and welded along the edges, right? How about the bottom portion of the frame? The frame kind of changes width, but your plate doesn't. Is the top portion of the frame plated with a piece of steel cut to match the shape of the flat top portion and then welded on? Are you going to weld anything on the inner portion of the frame and/or the bottom? Again, it looks great. I've got an '88 MJ with a clean body sitting along the house with no drivetrain or engine harness just waiting for me to do what you are doing! :) Jeff

I cant wait to see the thing all painted up and throwing rocks at me when my junk is folding in half behind you.

Pete

fixed it for ya

Mitch, that looks good. I'm diggin' how you'll have the shocks mounted and braced. If I didn't know any better, I'd think you raced a car or two in your life :laugh3:

The outside measurement is about 81",sidewall to sidewall. The top and outside of the uni frame we plated with 3/16".It is plug welded and welded all around.I'm thinking with all the triangulation it will be fine. The motor mounts came from Advance Adapters, they are welded on now and the bolts are still there too.The actual motor mounts in the pics are not being used,we have urethane ones going in.I think this pic will show you more of what we have going on.The track bar mount isnt finished yet so no comments about that!!!Yeah Sean a little racecar influence huh??also lots of old racecar parts are scattered about in there.

Front suspension is only staying until we change the front axle.I still havent decided what is going in,60-9 or SpiderTrax 60-9.Then it will be a three link.

No,nothing new.I got side tracked building up my daily driver. We did upgrade the rear axle with 40 spline shafts and dual bearing ends.I sold the front 44 and am building a HP60.Probably going back in the shop next weekend...I hope.It will be done for Easter Jeep Safari.

We got the front end all narrowed and fit.The hood and grill are mounted alot lower than stock also. The grill was very time consuming! We put the 'X' behind the seats and some more tube for the roof and windshield bar.We also got the power steering pump, alternator and front winch mounted. On the list for this week is radiator and trans cooler mounts. Also gotta get the seats ordered so we can fit them.

It looks really horrible. You went way overboard, the punisher hood looks stupid. What do you need all that for? You have no seat time. Get seat time and you are allowed to drive it without ridicule. :kissyou:

It looks amazing mitch, I really like the bobbed fron end, and for some reason I REALLY like the extra downward slope of the hood. What left over parts do you have from your last build that I can steal from you? I need to get going on mine and make it to nac-fest this year.

Nicko,I dont have much in the way of left over parts.I used a bunch of stuff on my DD.The Clayton front arms,9 inch rear and some other stuff I used on it.What are you looking for?
