No - doing the job the government should be doing protecting our too-porous borders. They are armed for their own protection, but under orders fom the organizers to avoid conflict and only to report groups they have sighted to the INS. Hopefully the INS will then come in and stop the illegal groups venturing in from Mexico...

yeah, because those poor, half-starved, dehydrated people who risked it all to get here are also some of the most extremely dangerous people on the face of the earth. god forbid that a person who just wants a better life for themselves and their families are dangerous. The real danger are potential terrorists. is a guy who is going to be stuck working for less than minimum wage in some field working 14 hour days a terrorist? no. is he a danger to anyone? no. while i'm not saying that they are all angels, i feel that this is a misguided attempt to stop poor people who deserve a better life. Heres a news flash for all of you. they aren't going to stop just because you caught them once. Not to divert attention from the southern border, but its probably easier to cross the canadian border. hell, all you have to do is get in a boat and cross one of the Lakes! If you were a terrorist with a nice bankroll, which option would YOU take? the largest unprotected border in the world with our neighbors to the north? or the southern border where all those "dangerous" real threats to america pass through? its a no brainer.

Got to disagree with you on this. Gang warfare, Drunk driving, assaults, murders, drug manufacturing not just importation, rapes, child molestations, these are some of the more common things that illegals get arrested for in California. Yes the state has the statistics to back this up.

like i said, not all of them are angels. gangs are a problem here as there are in cali and other places. but the VAST majority of illegal immigrants are hard working, god fearing conservative people. they do alot of the work that the "natives" would never do anymore. the're behind the scenes cleaning up the trash, cooking and washing dishes, and trying to raise their children at the same time while sending whatever little money they have left to their extended family back home.
