One 12" bluegill will make a nice sandwich. They are fun to catch on 2lb test and a 7'6" ultralight rig too.

Eh, they taste good and I know how to catch them. When you catch 1800 of them in a week, they don't have to be that big. That only happens one week out of the year and I never run out of fish.

i would take crappie to eat over bluegill any day...just my preference though. hell i'll eat em both if i don't have to fry em. wally's and crappies are my 2 favorite fried fish. im a big fan of salmon too now that i have a smoker

this man knows what he is talking about.
caught a few kings this weekend. almost got sea sick in the 3-5ft seas. today was a lot better, but i still felt sick. i think the 48 hours of drunk from our camping weekend had something to do with it. caught some fish, lost some tackle... decent weekend.

He was, more interested in petting it though lol. I can't wait to get him out either. My grandpa has taken me my whole life. He said if I get good enough I can "take" him. I told him if he ever sells his boat I better get first dibs.

one thing ive learned when taking little cousins...
take them where they can catch a lot of fish, but not necissarily big fish. also, dont plan on taking them for hours like most of us have probably learned to enjoy.

Yeah, you gotta get them interested in the hobby. For me, just being with dad "doing what daddy's doing" was what got me going. But kids these days with they're damn MPZs and GameBoys and internets, you gotta give em plenty of incentive.

Caught this big ole bass on Sunday. It was around 3-4 pounds. Biggest i've ever caught i guess.

Nice catch. I've never caught one that big. I'm mainly a panfish guy. I've caught a few, but none bigger than min length.

Don't have pics of most but the fishing was slow this week out on the river. Camped out on the river from Sunday till this morning. No walleyes, or crappies. 12 Perch averaging 10 1/2" each, 6 Northern Pike 24-34", countless small mouth bass from 4"- 22 1/2". Ended up keeping 10 gills, and one Northern Pike for shore lunch. The rest are still swimming.

I remember my those days when i was a big and famous fisher men and catch the fishes in the nearest beach of my home on every sunday with my family or someting with my friends that was really amazing days and memorable for all the life....

back in sterling heights working. ITCHING to get on st clair, but im working 60-75 hours a week. looks like ill have that new musky rod i want. haha. im working days, 6a-6p, and cant get to the musky shop before they close during the week. payday is friday, i get off on saturdays anywhere between 12p-2p. new ritual is to go to the tackle shop (conveniently only a couple miles from work) and bullshit with the seasoned vets. going tomorrow to spool up with 80lb braid and pick up some new lures.
season opens june first! im getting one this year... CASTING.
i swipped my fathers old saltwater lures that we used for striped bass. not ideal, but big enough even by musky standards. ill cull the tackle box as i aquire more gear.
