Anyone running a set Mickey Thompson MTZs?

I saw a set on another board that had 30k on them and they looked about 80% worn. I would like to get some real world info on them from people I trust.

I am going to get these or some KM2 this week. Thanks for the info.

planefixer is running them and think he likes them alot -- even with his long DD commute... I sold a wheel to another guy on here from the springs a few weeks ago, can't think of his handle, and while he really liked them off road, he commented that they were loud as hell on the road, like louder than MTRs... HTH:wave1:

Thanks. Noise is not an issue as the JK has huge fenders that divert that. I had a set of 35" MTRs on my XJ. I thought they were the quietest tires I had ever owned...until I took the Bushwacker flares off the front. :D

Jeff does love his and my next set will MTZs

You saw how well mine worked when we were in Moab....... and yes I love them. They do excellent on rock, snow and ice and aren't too noisy.

BFG KM2's for me please :spin1:

I'm the one that likes them offroad, hated them on my xj. Shook the dash to hell and was loud as hell. Now I run them on my YJ and there fine, still loud but no worse than any other m/t. I don't know if it's the coil front, re springs or what but I hated them on my xj. By the way, I loved them the first year, just wait till you get about 10k on them.

I knew you'd chim in! Sorry, my memory is not what it was, and it used to suck...:viking:

I bit the bullet today. I was going to go with Mickey Thompson MTZs, but I went with these KM2s. I am loving them.

My Rubi is an automatic & 4.10s, but I barely notice a difference in power. That was my main concern going from the stock BFG MT size to the 35. I worried for nothing.

I need to get a spacer for the tire carrier, until then it's in the back end. Here are some pictures.

Very nice John John!! :yelclap: I see the same in near future for me!!

That's what? 2.5" of lift? I'm sending this thread to my wife so she can see what her JK will look like once it's got 35s. :D

Any issues with rubbing so far? Just curious if you're planning on running spacers since you're keeping the stock wheels.

I'm sure you've posted this before, but what lift kit are you running?

Cheapo Teraflex 2.5" puck lift. It's the cheap one with the shock extensions(I love the stock Rubicon shocks). I bought an extra single 1" puck for the front, to level it.

Teraflex wheel spacers and your set.

Part Numbers:
TER 1355210
TER 1953075
TER 1055000

Call Troy at BIGoffroad for the gear.
