Yeah, I know lots of people have made these, but I spent so much time on them I have to show off.

they're made from 1/4" thick tubing and plate, expect for the top which is just a 1/16" skin to keep water out and make it look complete. The tube is 4" square, exactly 12" long.

I'll probably add a few more bolts with a backing plate to secure it a little better. Someday I'll expand it into a quarter panel guard, but I got some other work to do first.

So it's overkill, I know, but the steel only cost around $15, and $28 total for lights (cheap non-LEDs). Add in cutoff wheels, drill bits, weld wire, etc. probably about $60-$65 total.

I saw your thread a while back, those look real nice, better than mine. 1/8" wrapped steel, right? decided on what lights you're going to run?

Anyway, I don't have a lot of better pictures, but I do have some closer with the hatch closed. I uploaded them at higher resolution so I'm just including links. If you want any other pictures I can go scrape the mud off and take some.

The right side of the hatch is somewhat screwed up from hitting it on a rock a year ago, it's bent out and down so some of the clearances on that side are a little off. I need to grind the edge of the hatch back another 1/8" or so to keep it from hitting.
