Myself and the fam will be in New Lenox Memorial Day weekend. We're staying with my sister. We don't have any set plans as of now but, I've never been to Navy Pier so we plan to hit that. Wyfie and kids want to hit the aquarium, and I want to see that submarine that's in a museaum up there somewhere.

I'll likely have time to catch dinner one evening if anyone is interested.

sorry to hear about the new lenox part of your trip. im down to grab some food in the city though, just let me know when and where.

cheers,

jj

if JJ's in, I'm in.
we should take Mike to Exits or NEO's
:D

Just as long as it's not too awful deep in the city.........I'll need to get back at a decent hour. We'll likely leave the kids with my sis, I'd hate to do that to her for too long.:D

We could do a get-together here. We're about halfway between downtown and New Lenox, 5 minutes from 294 and 15 minutes from I-80/57

Hmm, my wife has been bugging me to go to Chi-Town for a while now. Something about shopping. May just have to arrange a M&G at the same time :D

yo dude u realy should change that chi town part of the subject to New Lenox b/c thats still a ways from the city. its more or less joliet NOT Chicago "the city" but if im not working i could meet you up for a few beers... but if you are by the pier while im working i might have a break round lunch or dinner to grab a beer .....haha city hahaha boy if i didnt work so much id take you for a ride through the city all right haha

Got it in one. That's the Field Museum. The Shedd Aquarium is just out of picture to the left, and the Adler Planetarium is also within walking distance.

The square building beyond the Saucer, I mean, Soldier Field is half of the McCormick Convention Center. The other half is on the border to the right.

Thanks Jeff!

John, if you're willing to play host, that's fine with me.

If you're interested in museums, I *HIGHLY* recommend the Museum of Science & Industry. The rebuilt U-505 exhibit is extraordinarily well done.

Man, it *WAS* 5 years ago today I was down there.

Mike....

Navy Pier, and the Museum of Science and Industry are pretty much the definition of "awful deep in the city" any deeper and you would be wet. :spin1:

But if you have never been to it, the MSI is a neat place to visit.

No problem, all the local folks already know where I live. We can grill some burgers, or order some pizzas.

What evening works best?

They still have bondage night at Excalibur?

We're not in Kansas anymore, Toto.

Yeah, I know....What I was getting at was that I didn't want to be downtown all day at NP, and then drive back to my sis's and then back in deep to eat.

Dosen't look like we'll get to squeeze in Museum of S&I this trip. Maybe wyfie and I will go later this summer without the kiddos. I really want to see the U-505. I can remember watching Bozo and him taking a tour through it.....seriously. It's been a dream ever since.
