mccaslin mountain oct16-18

I won't camp and I do not have recovery points on my stock XJ other then a rear receiver hitch. I live 30minutes from there. I may stop by if I can stop cutting wood and plumbing my wood boiler in.
 
May show up... If I do I'd prob grab a ride with someone else as my creep is rolling stock except for sliders...
 
You guys with the stock or near stock Cherokees can run the same trails the built rigs do. Of course, you'll have to take a different line then the big dogs do but the mountain is doable in a stock cherokee. I keep saying a stock Cherokee only because not ALL stock vehicles can run it. We had a stock s10 4x4 try and follow us back in May and we ended up dragging him back to camp with 2 tow straps between Brian P and me. Took out his oil pan and that was the end of that. :laugh3: Cherokees, on the other hand are very capable. Tow points are really the best way to go. Don't want to rip off any parts up on the mountain.
 
Yeh, I have rear class 3 hitch, sliders, and HiCountry's front D-shackle kit... Thats about it besides an overbored TB...

EDIT: And according to FlexdXJ, My tires suck.... Unfortunatly, I'd have to agree.... :bawl:
 
Oh, while I'm thinking about it...

When you leave camp and hit the trailhead, if you take the first trail to the right, the one that heads directly to Machette pass, you will come up to a long puddle in the middle of the road. You will look at it and think you can drive thru it....DON'T DO IT!!! I've got a pic of Brian P trying it and the minute he started in the front dropped in to the point that his headlights and part of his hood went under. We had to strap him out and he's on about 4 or 5" of lift, 32"s and locked at both ends. Bronco Mike was the only one that was with us at the time that actually made it. Of course, the Bronco is on 40" Irocs and god knows how much lift. It's pretty wet up there, so don't forget your towstraps! :)

That's a cool video. I have to watch it at work in the morning. My wireless modem keeps dropping the signal and I'm too lazy to go downstairs to the desktop and to lazy to figure out what the modem bs is.

Sure was a wet run this year.
