Marks on d30 oil slinger

Hey guys, I got my d30 regeared to 4.56 about a year ago. I noticed these marking on the oil slinger (I think that's what its called) when I was doing a fluid change recently. What do you think caused them?? Could this be an issue? It almost looks like they came in contact with the ring gear at some point...

Scuffs from install? Did you do it yourself? If you had enough movement for your ring gear to touch the slinger, you'd probably have catastrophic damage now....I'd think.

If youre not hearing any strange noise or seeing metal in your gear oil I wouldn't worry. Looks to be no odd wear on the ring and pinion.

Yea maybe it is from the install...I had a local shop do the gear setup for me.

Didn't find any metal in the gear oil I drained and the diff doesn't seem to be making any noises.

I do have quite a loud whine when I'm on the throttle in 4LO but I'm pretty sure that's that Tcase.

4lo whine is the tc. The higher your rpm the louder the wine.
