Markleeville hot springs

That's my favorite campground of all time. Absolutely beautiful, especially at night when the stars are out. The hot springs are just outside of the campground down a paved road less than a mile long.

Id definitely recommend it.

Yes it is Grover Hot Springs.

It is nice but be aware they are very strict. I got a costly parking ticket there a few years ago in just a day use area.

Last time I was there it was $7 for the hot springs and it can be crowded. Near the campground there is a hiking trail, called the waterfall trail or something similar that will take you to a creek with some very cool swimming holes. Less people, no admission fee, but the water is COLD.

Been to Grover Hot Springs lots of times. Always a great place. Good jeep trails in the Monitor Pass area to the SE. Or Hope Valley/Blue Lakes area back up Hwy 88. Also the Stevens Peak area out of Hope Valley/Red Lake area. Some old mines back in there. These areas are about 30 min from Grovers. Lots of possibilities. But remember to respect the NFS off road rules. Bring your stuff, like shovel and saw, etc. Lots of wash outs and some downed branches are likely.
Oh, one more thing. We always found the week end AFTER 4th of July weekend to be relatively light on people. Even empty space available at Grover camp ground. Get a site through ReserveAmerica.
