Manifold hose to airbox

Due to work, I don't have the time to make it to pick-a-part .. does anyone happen to have a serviceable hose for sale that goes between the exist (after the collector) to the side of the stock renix airbox? Mine is toast...thanks

dude those are like $4 new, and dissolve over time... i dont even replace em, and most smog guys wont fail you for it...

Yeah, buy a new one at pepboys or autozone. Cheap. And smog guys SHOULD fail you for it, but xcm is right, most don't notice or care.

honestly, i'm not worried about smog, more worried about if its necessary since I'd prefer not to leave a gaping hole in the airbox... if its only $4'ish i'll grab another one.. any idea what its name would be? kinda hard to just search hose

You'll usually find it near the fuel filters, it's a "choke stove" or "intake preheater hose". And it's certainly not necessary for fuel-injected vehicles, it's a holdover from carburettors, where it was used to provide warm air to help with fuel atomosation on cold starts (fuel injection automatically adjusts for cold intake air, and atomisation with port fuel injection is not a problem.)

Aftermarket replacement hoses are usually sold by inside diameter, so just measure the fitting on the side of the airbox snorkel. Length is pretty standard, and it's an accordion hose made of metalised film. Secure with cable ties.

Normally, I'd just say to cap the fitting on the side of the airbox snorkel, but that would probably get you failed on smog (nevermind that it's not necessary for operation, but it's an OEM "emissions control device" - whether it's necessary or not. So, we're stuck with the foolish thing.) After all, capping it makes it obvious that it's gone...

yeah the filter is up at where the box splits, it sucks air from the lower portion of it

like said, you can leave it be with no ill effects other than the potential failing of smog. i was failed for having it gone once.
