Does anyone have any experience with Mako Offroad products? I tried a search, but didnt get any results. Some claim it's a Calmini offbrand.
I've seen their products on Ebay and am considering them.

They also give free shipping and NAXJA discounts.

Their prices seem pretty good, and I'm gonna need some adjustable CA's soon.

TIA,

John

Greg, the guy who runs all those E-bay auctions really went out of his way to make sure I was satisified with my last purchase from him.

I got UCA poly bushings from him, and the steel sleeves for the centers were back ordered. It took a few weeks to get them, and he sent a bunch of other XJ specific stuff to make up for it. It took more time than I was happy with for e-mail replys, but I am over-demanding and I realize that I am not his only customer.

I had a Shackle lift from them also, and wasn't happy with the quality, or my use was to rough for it. I thrashed a shackle, with heavy foot and less brains than I should have exhibited.

So you're saying quality is so-so and customer service is great...right?

Or am I retarded :gee:

Don't answer that :D

Well, kind of.

I was abusive to the shackle, and twisted the crap out of it. I refused to lift off a rock, and instead tried to drag myself loose. Not really the shackle's fault.

But the Uni-body and spring didn't twist, just the shackle.

But yes their customer service is fantastic.

I was pleased with the prices, quality, and sevice in the items I have ordered from them. Most of their items are the same things that RE sells right down to the model # only cheaper by at least a couple of dollars. I'll definitely order from them again.

Oh yeah, IIRC, they have free shipping too.

Mako was also banned from Ebay not long ago.

Talk about bringing up a thread from beyond the grave...

Anyway, I hate to bash somebody that helps out NAXJA members but I bought a manifold from them a while back and they sent the wrong part (some unrelated suspension stuff). Though I eventually did get the part I needed and it was of acceptable quality, it was very frustrating to contact them. They would not answer e-mails or telephone calls so it took weeks to figure out what was going on and I could only get a live person on the phone by making the phone ring until they got annoyed and picked up the phone.

The trouble I had reaching the ebay seller caused me to lose a lot of confindence in ebay, particularly being able to expect a hassle free transaction.
