I know that at least one other rig will be coming up with me for Saturday. I could not talk some of the others into spending $55 for one day. I tried to tell them that if they were members they would only pay $35

I'm now on the fence about going, I may try to get a bunch of work done on the MJ. If I do make it down it would only be Saturday, and if i drink too muchparty1: you will see me for a little while on Sunday while recovering:shiver: .

I'll be down. Got the cage 99% done last night, fitting dash back in tonight, need to add gussets and paint, rebuild axle joints/hub, fuel tank raise, beadlocks...And a few other stuff too:spin1:...andy

less then 2 weeks away...who is going to make it down for Saturday? I know that me and one other rig from Missouri are gonna make it up for sure, maybe a few more if they can gather trailers and money (doubtful for these hosers!)

Hey everyone been lurking around this place here and there for awhile and I figure I should wheel this thing once. But I'm worried about tech, I don't have
a CB and my "tow points" would be a Class II hitch and front sway bar, any thoughts? Oh yeah saggy springs, open diffs, and 30" MTs but I wouldn't mind a little damage as long as she'll make the three hour trek home.

A CB is not "required" but nice to stay in contact with others.
A front tow point is required and I am sure your sway bar doesn't count.

I know that the sway bar will not pass as a tow/pull point. If you can find a good set of tow hook brackets, then you should be fine for front points, but as far as the receiver, I am not sure if there would be a problem with the class 2. I would think that it would probably be alright. Maybe Andy will chime in on this since he usually runs the tech inspection on the XJ's etc.

Your sway bar will NOT! pass tech, don't even hook up to it to pull even an empty paper bag. No easy way to get good tow points on the front of an XJ besides a good bumper with D-ring mounts(must use screw in D-rings only, NO pins) or hooks with mounts that use not only the 3 front bolts but the other 4 and steering gear box bolts or good hook brackets.
How many bolts hold your hitch on? If you have at least 3 your be fine. I'm not too keen on them being welded on.
Also NO!!!!!!!!! welded on hooks and D-rings. If anyone shows up with them I will not pass your rig in tech...
One week left everyone, better kick it in high gear(at least I need too)...andy

I forgot a few of my buddys are graduating that weekend and want me here for the parties which range everywhere from Friday to Monday. I'm still thinking I'll make it down Saturday but I'm not sure. If he decides not to go down but I still want to I'll definitely let you know Tyler, thanks for the open seat invitation. Oh...sig changed just for you Tyler.

Wishfull thinking on the swaybar, fingers are crossed that my bumper gets here soon. hopefully plenty off bunny trails up their for me.
