I am trying to find someone in Maine in the Farmington/Agusta area that would be willing to install some full size axles into my jeep, anyone have any ideas, any help would be great. Thanks

what do you have for axles? do you have a welder? a place to do it?

the shop i had do some work last summer is down in Portland. i think their website is www.neoffroad.com
they are all jeep guys too and they do incredible work. they wheel often too.i'd check with them, even though its a bit far. they also build custom axles. oh and the owner is an XJ guy!

awsome thanks for that, I do not have the tools or room to do it, i am in and out because of my job so i need it to be done for me, I will give thoes guys a call. and the axles are a d60 and a d44.

man when you get down there check out Chris' (i think that's his name) CJ. its a friggin beast. 14 bolt rear, d60 front, both shaved and narrowed. they do a lot of custom work and welding, and its a cool business that they have. it was just 3 wheelin buddies who decided they wanted to wrench full time. one of the guys (the XJ owner) used to work for Jeep.

oh and they will NOT rip you off. they know what they are doing and they'll do it right too, as if it was their own rig. good luck with them and i'm sure they'll be able to give you a good deal.

New England offroad will do it, from what Ive seen steep prices, but if youve got the cash they will do the job, and do it well. Also check around local shops you would be surprised, theres a few shops that have a higher clientel like ourselves than just cars and stock vehicles. I think Tuttle's in Farmington claimes "specializing in jeeps" as well as a small garage in auburn. I think theres one in Lewiston as well, but can't remember.

Im living in Farmington right now, if you can find someone with the knowledge im more than glad to help, I can hit stuff with hammers real good, and hold parts...

x2 check around because the local shop around unity also will instal lift kits and also do custom work with the axles if you ask them and have done business before. keep looking and report back with what you found out. you never know it might help the next guy looking for something like that.

yea I am doing the guy next door thing right now with instaling the guts for my axles. however I kinda want to be sure they are installed right, the jeep will be driving to moab beginning of may. it would be nice to have the requited equipment, one day... thanks for the help ill let you know how it goes
