I don't have a garage so anything I do is out in the driveway or in the yard. Sucks having to carry the little welder out there so I made a cart that will go in the dirt. Basically I made a box out of 1x1x.25 angle iron and attached it to an 800 lb dolly. Been working on this for a while and I'm pretty pleased with it.
I checked all the dimensions of higher-end welders and made it big enough to support any of those, for when I go to 220v and gas. There is an opening by the dolly part to support one or more tanks--it's about 9.5" deep and 4' tall so that is big enough to support a 200cf tank, but it's 14" wide so I can also put a couple of 7" tanks next to each other.
The dolly I bought had the wheels right behind the platform, but I wanted a wider stance so I decided to move the wheels outboard. I made little axle brackets by doubling up large 5/8 washers, and welding them to the box, then buying a piece of 5/8 rod for the wheels.
The hangers were bought at TSC. They are for garage door tracks but work perfectly for the hoses and helmets.
I am going to add a long and narrow workbench drawer under the top platform, and some kind of sidewall for the lower platform, and a fire extinguisher too. I don't plan on going any further than that though.
