Sadly, I see a whole lot of old people in that picture. I did see a staggering number of people my age at the Scott Brown rallies though, I had to drive through one to get home one night - right at the entrance to the main WPI campus, about the last place I expected to see a rally for a conservative politician.

Scott Brown isn't exactly conservative...just b/c he's Republican, doesn't mean he's ultra-conservative...he's pretty middle of the road....

Well, yeah. I didn't say ultra-conservative :dunno: I'm actually fine with that. As long as he doesn't do too much retarded stuff I'll consider it good enough... I'm disappointed by his support for RomneyCare, but if he kills (or by his existence may have killed) ObamaCare, I'll be a bit less disappointed.

EDIT: as for social conservativism... honestly the less of a social conservative he is the better I'll think of him.

Not in the slightest. They think(I have to admit, they have past behavior/history on their side)they'll get re-elected regardless of what they do. If we manage to vote them out, they have the best (and fully funded!)pension plan on the planet, automatic(and protected)next job as lobbyists to(go ahead, guess,...)congress.

Neither party will undo any damage/suck back any govt intrusion the other party puts in place. The Democrats have been in charge of Congress for the last, what, 4 years or so? Size of govt - UP, spending - UP. Before that, the Republicans for 6-8 years. Size of govt - UP, spending - UP. Before that, the Dems again: Size of govt - UP, spending - UP, Anyone see a pattern there?

^ This, and it's the same thing in ever country.

Just goes to show you that with age comes wisdom.
...and intermittent senility, a fondness for prunes, hard candy, and a deep seated hatred for children playing on ones lawn.

Can't wait to see how Urban's the loyal lapdog media feels when a bunch of these half wit goons get unelected in November. The tea party and those of us with common sense will be sending a bunch of urban's friends home for a permanent break so they can visit over a nice latte'. Previous administrations spent too much but Hussein and his buddies are making them look like ameteurs when it comes to corruption, stupidity, and above all spending. It will be a cold day in Hell before I support any action this bunch is forcing down our throats.

While I agree with you, it just makes your whole point kinda vanish by resorting to childish namecalling. Obama's middle name is indeed Hussein, but the only reason people like to say anything about it is to point out Saddam Hussein.

Agree. We don't need name calling! From now in middle names are off limits for politicians.

Effective immediately it is FR, JK, LJ, RN, GB, etc. That is only fair now that we are all stuck with BO.

Traditionally, more old people than young people turn out at the polls.

Is the US Congress listening, hard to tell, the reconciliation vote on health care reform by the House of Representatives may be a harbinger. The flip side; is this billboard just a feel good for those people posing in front of it? (and some members of NAXJA) or will voters turn out in large enough numbers to vote congress out? Not just switching what side of the aisle holds the majority, but REALLY voting congress members out in a grand scale...like by the hundreds...to show the nation's displeasure.

Time will tell.

Yeah, they're mad and all for fiscal responsibility now, but what will they say if you try to reform their entitlements: medicare and social security?

The fact is what we have will break and needs to be reformed, and people are going to lose out. Pyramid schemes only last so long.

I can't argue that. Personally I would like to see them all voted out like Boatwrench said. Republican, democrat, conservative, liberal...it doesn't matter. They have all got so used to the entitlements they receive and the sense that they can do whatever they want. I really would like to see a mass firing and then a new batch of dudes who sincerely believe in term limits. I know that is just a pipe dream though.

I resemble that statement.
I'm merely stating that:
to imply all old folks are inherently wise is no different than to imply they're all senile. Just because some older folks hold a sign telling me to kick out the liberals doesn't mean they're correct.

"Gray beards" ARE inherently more intelligent.

They have survived long enough to become "Gray beards".
