Yea but your JK has a warranty and can be financed for 5 years! I doubt Tyler would finance one. LOL! :shhh:

The funny thing is that all of the parts are new and so they carry a warranty. Oddly enough, out of everything that messed up, none of it was my fault, except for the t-case skid, which is arguable. However, fixing the damage on it was free of charge. He only got charged for the additions to it to make it stronger.

That is a sweet looking motor and ride. Makes me want a LS2 in my XJ. Are you going to put it on a chassis dyno when you are done?

I flipped thru the thread and didn't see much elaboration. What do ya think about the ORI Struts. How hard were they to set-up and get right? I'm interested in loosing the coil springs and leaf springs. It just something I'm interested in doing. I'm tired of the coils unload when I least expect them to... More info!

tylers got them on all four corners of his buggy, they are sweet ive ridden in it. he knows more about it than me but they seem to have a pretty easy setup, its just trail and error for the charge in each piston of the strut. theyre sweet, but not 600+ a corner sweet (for me at least, ill stick with my coils and leaves)

Sorry I haven't been on this thread in a while! Ive been so busy with projects in the shop that it isn't even funny! Unfortunately not one quite as cool as this. But, it s back in the shop. Unfortunately he sank the thing in about 3 feet of water with the engine turning roughly 5000 RPM or so, and well, it didn't like breathing in a couple gallons (NOT exaggerating) of water. Seven bent rods and busted pistons later, and he had to get it towed home and now the engine is back out and torn down. Machine shop has it and Im waiting on them to be done with it, gonna be an expensive repair...
Anyway, about the struts; they are great for somebody who wants to spend time with them to fine tune them. I would recommend anybody that gets a set to go ahead and spend the money for a charge kit as well, that way you can play with them in your own time. I seem to have gotten it right the first try on Betty (RSOR Buggy), but the LS2 XJ could use some more work. I have plans on fixing that for hi too, free of charge. He has been talking about tuning them better, but we just never got around to it since I have been so busy. As far as price, they are about $700 each depending on what size you go with. For me and Betty, they were totally worth it. But on an XJ, I don't know... if you are willing to spend the time with them, then they are probably worth the money, but unless you tune them you won't see the full benefits and may not feel like you got your money's worth.

Well, I had it back together pretty quick. Turned out fine, no issues once the broken parts were replaced.
As far as I know, hes still driving it around but I don't think it ever really gets wheeled like it should. He just goes and plays at some local shit holes here and there when he has time. Its kinda a shame, the jeep is very capable but he just doesn't really have time to use it.
