Los Padres?

Has any one checked out Los Padres National Forest down by SLO? Any decent trails or good amount of back roads to check out? I'm not looking for hard core type wheeling like the con or something but anything moderate or cool to check out? Maybe something a little tougher then a stock SUV could handle? My Jeep is capable of the con but some times I like to just check out the back country too. Any ideas?:patriot:

There are lots of trails, but I'm not sure what's open anymore. There have been a lot of wildfires in that area the past couple of years and may still be closed. You should PM RobertF, he's a SoCal member but has been on just about every trail in California and could point you in the right direction.

Rightseatsis (mary) told me about a trip she took down that way a couple of years ago during the spring. Shoot her a PM.

Cool, I'll have to ask around. I went there before but it was years and years ago. Before I had a Jeep. I've got all the means to navigate and explore around but I wasn't sure if it was even worth checking out. Problem is that some times you look on topo maps and there are tons of trails but then they aren't always clearly marked as hiking, Jeep or any other type. I'd had to go there and end up with no where to drive except to a camp ground. We'll what ever, it's all part of Jeeping. Maybe I'll just have to go see for my self.

We have the dunes down here.
