looks like we might get pounded!

at about 5 pm it switched over to the slushy crap...within 5 mins I was able to start the ever so fun powerslide.

Here is all the pics I have;

The "Hemi Sled" just before my wife and I went for a 2 hour snow ride.

My buddy is stuck near Canton NC in a hotel trying to come home from WCU. Semi's were sliding all around on 40, so he ended up going back a few exits and is staying the night.

Saw on the news earlier parts of 52 just north of Winston are closed because of a semi that overturned....people can't drive in snow!

Cell phone pic from this evening...about an inch on the ground at the time.

Looks like you Roanoke guys are going to get some of the best of this stuff. Have fun!

After seeing that Boone already has 10" as of about an hour ago, I'm thinking about heading up to Sugar. I'm sure I'm just one of 100,000 other people thinking the same thing right now.

Green with envy!!!!

I was seriously considering going and camping out in the lodge last night to be there without all the rush.

I had to run my wife out to a family members house who needed medical assistance, my wife is a RN. The 2 mile drive was easy for the Commander but it is snowing so hard it is nearly impossible to see. The crapy cell phone pics do not do justice. Yes those are cars just left on the side of the road.

Wow.

we've got anywhere from 4 to 10 inches already on the ground up here in the Richmond, VA area so far.....and the weather folks said it was gonna start as all rain this evening and switch over to snow overnight LOL.

Revised forcasts on the 11 o-clock news are now saying 12-18" around here. I'll post some pics up in the AM when it's light out....I ain't going back out again tonight. I ran down to the local quicky mart earlier to get some powerball tickets and almost got killed three times by other drivers.

It finally stopped here. I haven't measured but it looks to be around 16". I will be getting out and playing in a few. The local hospitals are calling our 3 local clubs to do some personal transports so I might get into that and at least one local club is going to do a trail ride today on some of the easier trails.

Some pics from this am.

That is beautiful!!

we have over 14" on the ground in nova and it ain't stoppin! looks like up to 20"+ by tomorrow.

its a shit show around hear. took me 2 hours for a trip that normally takes 45 min.s last night when there less then an inch on the ground! people were stuck on flat ground on the beltway, a few cars left at exit ramps, cop cars and plow trucks wrecked out with bad snow drivers. only the truly hardcore are out and about today, plow trucks and big 4x4's, i was draggin diff coming thru a few spots. gonna swap the wifes 33"s on if it gets really nasty.

so far i have yanked out two cars, pushed 10+ till they got traction, drove home one stranded family, one stranded father. about to call the local fire station and hospital to see if they need any help.

I just got back in, I went out in the JK around 9:30 and that was a mistake, the JK sucks in the snow. I didn't want to drive the Hemi Sled because it sits so low and the drifts and plow piles are too high to bust through without tearing up the front air dam. I finally got home and parked the JK and got the trail rig out. Even with 35's locked/locked it just had a hard time busting through the snow and getting traction but I never got stuck. There were a lot of people that wanted me to pull them out but I didn't. Too many liabilities.

You can see how deep the drifts are on my trail rig
