Hmmm...not sure who THE Colorado Red is? I don't have a stroker though, just a plain old 4.0.

I'll get some pics probably tonight and post them for you. I can say going from the D30 with 15x8 rims and 3.25 backspacing to the d44 with 15x10s, there is a big difference in width! I have Bushwackers and I stick past them by a couple inches easy. I seem to get through all the tight squeezes that everyone else does...like between rocks/trees. I personally like the width, at this height I need all the stability I can get!

I would like to see the pics myself...sounds BADA**

Don't do it visually.

Find out your answer numerically.
There are places where wider is better, and places where narrow is better......

I forget what one junk's tracwidth is, somewhere around 86 I believe, and mine is somewhere near 78-79.....

Im 82in Track width on the front with the 69.5in WMS axle and centered off set 8in 16.5in Wagon wheel rims, with a 12.50 tire.

My rear is about 65in WMS, Less BS rims then my front, 78-79in Track width.

Ive had alot more trouble with the wide body of the cherokee then my wider track width...I narrowed the rear body 12in, and I want to lift my rocker pannes about 12-18in. The front width hasent been much of a problem but i can see it getting narrowed in future builds...Im trying to :D wheel tight fitting rock washes. thats the best stuff around arizona.. you need width to strattel the notches, and need to be narrow to fit through the wash.

you can look at a hundred pictures, but they're not gonna tell you much....."look" is not what you are concerned with.

I learned something from this any way. Thanks for the info. It's nice the way a thread can evolve and to give the answer to a question that I didn't even know how or what to ask. While I have your ear, Beezil, are you coming to Colo. in August? I'm looking so forward to meeting some other XJ'ers.

Thanks to all, info on your XJ width is greatly appreciated. Daryl

Ok, finally got some pics up on Yahoo.

The light wasn't too good out, so some of the pics might be a little washed out looking.
Don't trash me too hard for it being "pretty". Its only been this big for one season and I didn't have enough cash to finish it enough to get it on the trail. Only two easy rides...some of you may remember this rig from the EJS last year. That was my first ride of the year....which made me realize I had a lot more work to do! And the other run I just had to get out and play, even if it did nearly tear off a fender...it was fun!
On the to do list...
Chop down the rocker guards for more tire clearance
bump stops (I hate them too...but I gotta do it!)
Major alignment
Motor mounts

Hopefully most of this will be done before EJS and I can come play a little.

Then...
winch bumper, winch, cage, and and and....

I wish I was rich...I'm still paying for things I bought a year ago! :shhh:

Any more questions, or if you want another view of something just e-mail me.
