Looking for opinions on 35"s

stock brakes (just make sure you go dual diaphram booster ) work great.
dont use crappy $10 pads and get SS lines, youll be fine.
ADJUST THE REARS.... rears are important to overall brake function - crazy huh?

unit bearings are holding up to about 13 k of hard street and trail driving

if you do replace, buy some with warranty

shafts are one thing....but how often do you want to replace your hub assemblies and brakes?

I bought all new caliper when I put 35's on. New rotors and pads, and have GM1500 break lines and still drums in the rear with no problems at all. Hubs have about 65k on them and in still good shape.

Hey Mike how do you know when the hub/unit bearing is going bad? Because I run 3.5" backspacing rims with 1.5" spacers and I know the hub is going to go quicker because of that. But how do you know when there bad??

Ya lift the front end and check it.

You might notice a bit more chop on the tires, slight squeal(not very likely), or hint of DW

check for play lol

grab top and bottom push/pull see if there is play. check like you would ball joints but look to see if its ball joints or bearing :D

all stock shafts on a 30, 35's beadlocks, 4.56's no truss, and a locker.

not really light wheeling. not hardcore, but not light

drive it right and youll be fine[/QUOTE]

Poser. You'd never last on those stock shafts on the wet mossy rocks of PA.

coming from the guy in TX :roflmao:

id happily wheel a 30 on 35's out there. just might not drive as crazy as those guys

I will continue to wheel Texas thank you. You were the one telling people that 35's and d30's couldn't exist in the same plane.

No I wasn't I ran 35s with heavy ass 15x10 diy beadlocks on a 30. It can happen though mine was built so I could beat the piss out of it. I was saying stock axles don't like 35s very much.......especially on the slippery rocks in the northeast.

why not go with 33'' and a locker. you can do a lot more with lockers and 33'' then open on 35''
if you think you will be fine at rausch with stock d30 and 35's come to nac fest and follow these guys and i promise you a broke d30.so if you come bring new parts to do a trail repair.

Uh oh! I'm going to NACFest. I just bought brand new 35s. I have a D30. I'm screwed! I don't have stock shafts though:cool: And I drive like an old lady - I should be fine.

To the OP .... I got a smoking Craigslist deal on Dick Cepek Mud Country tires. They look awesome and have gotten some really good reviews. I also like them cause nobody I wheel with has them. Its fun to be unique.
