Not sure if it helps, but I was planning on going this route. I still haven't called them about the thing's dimensions, though. After a second look, it seems a bit small. <shrug>

ya i want somehting with drawers.
i am an electrician and do side jobs alot and its nice to have the basics with you and have the big o bag of milwaukee tools right on top. next to the wire rack in the explorer i have 2 rubbermaids and the big bag and the wire rack on top of the rubbermaids.. but im trying to upgrade keep breaking rubbermaids throwinfg stuf in the back. and trying to be a little more organized. the rubbermaids i just throw everything in..
my other thought was to buy some deep craftsman toolbox drawers the ones that re like 8 inches high and 8 wide and get the slides and build a box to put like 3-4 of them in... well see
something like this.. just ordering the bottom drawer(4 of them) its like 12 wide and 12 high.. and stacking them side by side

I've tried all sorts of stuff over the years, I even had a one ton mechanics (plumbers) truck for awhile (actually two over the years). I always return to the same solution. I buy a couple of dozen Rubbermaid type boxes and break all my tools and parts down into kits. I honestly find rubber type, plaster mixing buckets to be the handiest tool storage on the job.
Most every job is different and you have to be flexible most times. I try not to carry around all my tools, a one ton isn't nearly big enough anyway.
I use the same system for my XJ, one box for spares, one for often used tools and another for seldom used tools.

You might look to the fire/police specialty manufacturers. Most are expensive, but if you find a local outfit, you may get a deal. I have been out of that industry for a while, but there is some awesome stuff out there. Just for an example, here is an example page: http://www.gowansknight.com/command_page.htm

This is a Tuffy storage/tool box for a TJ that fits nicely in the back of the XJ.
It will need to sit on shims to clear the latch but can be ordered with risers and drawer dividers that look similar to the ones in the above pics.
