Well...

I may be coming into a few buck soon, and this damn Peugeot is going silly in first, second, third (now!) and reverse. I gotta get something better...

I doubled this in Sierra and SoCal - truck freight is just off the far end of nuts these days, and I am therefore willing to drive to pick up or meet if the price is right...

I need to bolt it into my 88XJ/4.0/BA-10/NP231/D30/D35. If it won't work with original structural stuff (like crossmember and driveshafts,) I'd need that stuff as well.

How much I'm willing to pay for it depends largely on what I have to do to get the thing (i.e. how far I've got to drive) and how much work I've got to do to get it in workin' order (whether or not I have to rebuild it.)

Anyone have anything useful? Price is (as usual) an issue, but that can potentially be worked out.

An AX-15 is acceptable, but an NV3550 is preferred (doesn't the 3550 swap right in for the Peugeot? I seem to recall that it does...)

I've got a replacement Peugot for free. It was good in all gears, by the account of the peeps who dropped it off at my house (Keven). If nothing else turns up, it's yours if you are desperate.

Yeah, Jon, get Andy's tranny and bolt it in. Then look around for your AX15, NV3550, NV4500 etc. at least you will have a running tranny and can have time to look. Nothing beats free. :)

You need the tranny more than me. I would have just liked a spare tranny for the 89' I got from Dan that I'm cleaning up and selling.

I just picked up an ax-15 from PnP, it should be about $250 with a t-case. It is always a gamble to see if you get a good one, but it seems like I lucked out and got a good one :D. However, I wouldn't wish pulling a tranny out without a tranny jack on anybody. On the other hand, it only took us an hour and a half to pull it. Good luck. Oh yeah, if you are going to an ax-15 make sure to get the x-member and 4x4 shift linkage, my friend just did the swap from peugeot to ax-15, if you have any questions, let me know.

CRASH -
Where, exactly, is Foresthill? I may have to come up and get that Peugeot from you to buy myself some time. This would bring the total number of Peugeot transmission in my posession to three (temportarily) with two to be sold for scrap.

I'd still like to get an AX15 or NV3550 if anyone has one loose - I'd do the AW4 conversion, but that's more electronics than I care to get into, the AW4 probably won't help my mileage with the stocker 3.07 gears I haven't gotten rid of yet, and I like driving a stick... Thanks for the offer tho, Dave. (Besides, I probably have enough parts under my workbench to build a couple anyhow...)

14 miles past Auburn on Hwy 80. I can send it down with Jes one of these weekends, though. He's in SF.

That could work - the City is easier than Scrappymento. Do you want to PM him or shall I? I remember your reaction to finding out you were bringing the cage back with you from JT's!

I'll talk to him.
