not gonna happen big, after close consideration I think I've changed my mind to this, http://www.overstock.com/Jewelry-Wa...l-Kinetic-Movement-Watch/4321546/product.html. It's surprisingly as large as the mtm watches and an eighth thicker. About half the cost which will go to my ps3 system for Christmas, lol. I really love the look of it and I dont think you can go wrong with Seiko, it's a plus for me up here to not have to send it to LA for any service in the future. But MTM is definitely in the future.

I'm a fan of Seiko as well. I have one I bought in late 2003/early 2004 so it's close to 6 years now. I got it in Hong Kong for $100. It's a titanium with stopwatch. Very light and it went through hell. Broke the band once playing basketball, sent it to Seiko and they fixed it. They also shaved the glass a bit due to the scratches for free. It serves me well.

I always liked the older Citizen diving watches...for a new watch under $500 you might check out a Promaster chronograph, the Carbon A-T, there's a few of them that I wouldn't mind owning, nice looking watches with the solar powered eco-drive.

My dad has 2 of them. I only take it off to change the battery, which I have never had to do . I get complements on it all the time, and it made of carbon.

I have a seiko around somewhere, one of those kinetic winders. I stopped wearing them about 6 years ago when I realized I have one on my dash, another on my phone, another on my flashlight, all the computers have them.
I get them in the PX though, good prices.

The special ops watches are all show and no go, they just look hardcore, a timex expedition is more durable, if you want a truely tough as nails watch, and want hands, id buy a luminox, they are the heat, ive owned one, and thats all ive needed, it i lost it, i would buy a new one that day, they work and work like no other.

I've always been a fan of fossil titaniums. They aren't expensive and they have been great to me....The two most recent ones i had had broken faces (mechanic, managing restaurants, and other physically demanding activities, but the faces are cheap and so are the batteries....I've got a Relic now, it's made by fossil but only sold at Kohl's.

I had a Swiss Army watch i've had since high school graduation (2001) that i love, and used as a "dress" watch for a while, but the second hand is bent slightly now so it won't make a full rotation. I would love to get a more expensive watch, but haven't been able to yet.

I can attest to the Luminox watches. Very rugged and reliable. I've had mine for around 15+ years and beat it to hell, the bezel broke off somewhere along the line, long since lost the compass, it's been through a few batteries and 30 or so bands and it's still waterproof to at least 15 feet (that's as far as I go!) and keeps perfect time.

The Citizen is an inexpensive one that was my father's and I started wearing it after he passed, that's a nice watch too. Keeps perfect time as long as it gets enough light.

If anybody knows where to buy just the timing bezel for a Luminox watch please tell me, I've been looking for about 10 years and it's pretty ugly without it.

I pulled my grandfathers Gruen out of the drawer and wore it for a couple of days, then put it back. I find wearing one now to be very annoying.

I have had excellent luck with the Luminox F-117 Nighthawk series model 3401

One can be had for about 300. Absolutely bulletproof. Fantastic illumination. I would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone!!

I second the Lumninox line.

Well guys, thanks for all the help on this, I went with this http://www.bluedial.com/ska367.htm . I'm so thrilled! I cant believe this but I got this watch shipped for free from Hong Kong! Came to my house in Canada in less than a week!!!! No duty charges, no brokerage charges...nothing! I got this watch from a dude in Hong Kong called Dabrands, a genuine Seiko with owners manual etc, the whole nine yards, perfect condition for $152.00!!!! This is unbelievable, I'm sure it would be $300 plus in my local mall. I'm just so happy with it. Thanks again, and I highly recommend Dabrands, 100% satisfied customers on his rating and I'm another one. Thanks once more. FYI I just used that bluedial site to show you the pic of the watch, ebay ruled on this one.
