First of all i dont like rice
no rice cookers on my ride... as for what i spent my money on, is my 98 XJ
(love it! had a YJ for few years, went through 2 engines and 3 trannies off roading in mud etc..) and my other toy...which is my Celica... its a 72 second year they made these... anyway, here is the link to the video ... please watch it, and then watch the pics... and tell me if you can help me... as you can see... i have pics of my XJ on my Celica site... and that makes me a PROUD owner of BOTH of these FINE cars... XJs and a classic Celica ... that you no longer see on the road, Celica is a RWD so its not a HONDUHH!
anyway... there we go...

my problem:
for those familar with toyota engines, you put 20r head on 22r block, 2.2 on 2.4 that raises the compression. right? and that means more HP and TRQ. well i did 8R head on 18R , which is 2.0L block and 1.8L head, got my engine rebuild, watch every progress, and a very reputable shop did that... so i know its right... as you can see by watching my video my engine runs revs great etc... but only in neutral, as soon as i put it in gear it will only drive up to 2 thousand RPM, and then it will bog... the carbs i used were Weber 40 DCOE sidedrafts... and were of onknown origin(ebay, bought them along with an intake for my engine and the selller that sold these said they were on 18R so i figured these would run fine). Anyway, my problem is, I got rid of these carbs, got Dellortos shipped from italy, right now my car runs even worst. It will simply not idle, and once i rev it, i have to wait a second for the rpm to come down. Does anyone of you know the jetting i should run? anyone could help me in Ontario Canada? Im at the point where i did not drive my Toy for a year and im thinking of purchasing a brand new set of webbers from Italy just to get it going, i dont want to drive over that thing YET with my XJ
PPPPPPP Worst case i will but a 4runner and put it on its frame.
Please help.
btw here are the specs of the engine:
1.8 head
2.0L bottom
3/4 race cam
dual sidedraft DCOE or DHLA carbs..
HooKer Competition Headers
3" Exhaust
oh, by swapping the head i went from 8.4 to 10.1 compression or somewhere in that range....
I guess now you know why my Screen name is PUrple
