Locking lugs - problem.

I wonder if Gorilla Nuts uses a variable pattern on the nuts/socket kits making them a true locking nut or if all of their lugnuts use the same socket......... I'll try one of those first...... (crossing fingers).
I have Gorilla locks. They do have varied patterns I have a sticker that came with them that tells me the numbers to reorder a key.

But it looks a lot like those. I'll let you use it. However I'm in the springs.
send me a pm if you want.

LOL - did ya read the whole thread? "Crisis averted" I believe was the phrase I used........ :D

However, I'm thinking that Gorilla Nuts might be filling folks with false info..... I have two other sockets for the nuts on another XJ. Both have different key codes, but both worked on all of the Gorilla nuts on the set that I didn't have a key for. In looking at both sockets, and the pics posted in this thread, all the key splines in the socket and cut into the lug nut appear to be perfectly perpendicular to the spline across from the other - no random spacing to indicate any unique pattern........

Honestly, I don't care - all I wanted was to remove those damn lug nuts without serious complications and they worked!

It has 5 of these on each wheel.

So if they are locks, Then there were five pairs on this Jeep.

You said you had another set.

So six sets in all, and one key worked for all of them?

Not too secure of a lock nut....

Either the guy took the time to find 5 sets with the same key #, and by chance you have a matching set, or they are all the same...

But that also means that besides the one that should have been in the Jeep at the time of the roll over. He has or had 4 other keys somewhere. It shouldn't have been an issue.......

Or maybe I'm just rambling, and the important thought that I had that made me click the reply button has gone awol.....

Par for the course........ :D

But it should be noted that Gorilla Nuts are sold in sets to be used as lug nut replacements, not like a typical single-per-wheel locking lug.
