Local gear shop

I'm in the market for 33" tires and need to regear. I talked to one of our sponsors and have gotten a quote for gears, master install kits, and a front lock rite. Does anyone in the western ct area have a reputable shop to do the work? I'd prefer not to have anything screwed up after blowing that kind of coin.

Just a heads up, but most shops are not going to warranty anything you supply the parts on.

Where would you suggest locally that is reputable and hasn't decent pricing and labor costs? I was planning on ordering from a sponsor because the price seems to be good and being as I am located in Fairfield county most places are way over the top with prices. Hell you can't even go to a deli and get a sandwich for under 10.00 most places

custom creations LLC will do a good job he's located in Naugy, I can get you a number if you'd like.
Also I have a friend of mine That does installs, he's located in Meriden CT. No one will warrenty any gear installs and I don't think it's needed.

That would be awesome. I'd like to get some price quotes put together and talk to the people. Before committing to anything even if it means running 33's on 3.55's for a while

we are doing a JK right now at the shop, 5.13s i think on 35s, Dynatrac D44 front with ARB locker and the works. i work at Claytons by the way.

no idea on work load right now, you'll have to call and talk to Adam or Clayton on that but we can hook you up.

I didn't even know EVB did gear installs they are in my town but I thought they outsourced that work, I know they use a different shop for alignments and things. I will have to look into it.

I talked to Adam yesterday about this, he said we can do this for you but are booked fornthe next few months. We charge 4 hours and 5 hours for the install labor, one axle is more than the other but i don't remember which one. I'm guessing the front is a little more.

What are the labor rates? And would I have to purchase the parts through the company?

Is it true that going to 4.56 gears in the Dana 30 requires a new carrier? Something about the factory one having a break in it? So I'd have to order one of those also. Which rwk working into the package for me?

Can't tell ya man, call the shop Tuesday or send an email. All im saying is thatwe have the facility and know how to install your gears. Which ones, what parts an where you get them is something you'll have to talk to Adam or Clayton about. I'm still pretty new to XJs myself and even knewer to Clayton Offroad.

alright thank you for the info and i will definitely be in contact with them. it may be a few weeks. im waiting for my tax return before i bite the bullet on anything.
