Lift Kit

I own a 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport and am looking at lift kits, I am preferring something 3" and under and want something cost effective does anyone have any suggestions?

I was thinking this kit, but is this really all i need to do the ENTIRE job?

as I'm looking through all of this, what exactly do I need to obtain my desired lift though? some kits have shock absorbers some don't same thing with springs

It all depends on what you want to do with it and how much $ you have. The cheapest would be a budget boost which consist of spacers in the front and aal or shackles in the rear. I ran a 3 inch lift for a while with stock length shocks. So IMHO shocks are optional at 3 inches or less. If you have the $$ I would recommend them though. The more pricy kits have new springs in the front and new leaf packs in the rear. The kit you have a link to includes everything you would need.

Now that's actually very helpful to me and I thank you for that. I just want no more than a 3 inch total lift. I would take the shackles and the least possible but I guess if I save might as well do the whole thing right? I'm on a budget and just need it to last

I would go ahead and get the whole kit if the $ allows you too. The Rough Country stuff is good. Ive ran thier stuff for a couple of years and for the most part had no problems. With the exceptions of normal wear and tear.

I know the dude in the "live chat" pic...he's a straight shooter! He'll take good care of you. I ran 3 inches and 31-32's for awhile with great success. I would stay away from the Add a Leafs....I just removed a RE 3.5 leaf with an add a leaf that bent the main leaf, and was likely giving me less than 3". In my opinion, spacers and add a leafs take the same amount of effort as a full spring replacement, if you are doing the work yourself. Get the full springs, coils and leafs. If you don't want to do serious trail work, you can forgo the shocks. I put some looonger than rec shocks on, and bumpstopped appropriately for some good flex!

I think 3 inches, and 33's is likely the best all purpose XJ set up, street/trail. I'm now on 35's and 5.5 inches, not nearly as streetable...

and here is the bent 3.5 inchers next to new 4" leaves....
