Andy's got a nice little variety at his house......the econobox for good MPG, the XJ as the offroad toy, and the viper as the insanely cool and fast toy

He was running a D300 14bolt D44 with 39's IIRCkbradner said:What set up are you running?
I'm on 36's now with about 8" in the rear and 7 or so in the front. I was at 6" rear but did nto like the saggy ass look. 8" IMHO is alittle much for 36's but then again I like to cut sheet metal.kbradner said:What kind of lift do you need to run 39? I just want to run 36 and I am having issues of what size lift.
kbradner said:How can I go about getting that kind of lift, the cheap way? I guess I will need sye? I have a bunch of rustys stuff under it right now. I was wondering can I get like a 4.5" lift and add blocks nd spacers? How does that work? Thanks for your help
We have a winner! If I were starting over I'd run a 33 or 35 on D44 rear and D30 front. I was able to get up Lower 2 on 33's and some good spoting and some rock stacking. It was not really a lot of rock stacking. I consider Lower 2 one of the most difficult trails there is in the South East. Learn to work with what you got. Then go for bigger. I'm still learning by teh way, lol!ZachMan said:You never need 8" of lift until you have done an axle swap.
LOL! That was my desire for mine too. :twak: MAybe camping next to you the last few years has rubbed off onto me. LOL!a-mechanic said:I have no idea how much lift i have. Someone told me once it looks like 10 in. I built it to clear 39's, i wanted full widths, and i wanted a gear driven t-case.
I built it to drive lower 2 with no cable and no bypass and I did. Now it's probably too big.
kbradner said:well how do I go about getting 35's or 36's on there? Or would I just be better off with my 33's>?
Dude,ZachMan said:I've run 33s and 35s on my RE 4.5" lift no problems, just added some bumpstop when going to 35s. I am now back to 33s becasue 35s + small brakes + small balljoints/unit bearings = more maintenance and less safety on a DD.

Those are some wise words....
maybe some of that medicine has had a positive effect on your brain power!:moon:
That's a nice bumper. Hey, what kinda steering set up you running?? THAT looks nice..... I think I'm gonna miss the Spring Fling. I'm planning on making the drive for the Morris Mountain work day on the 21st, and I've got plans on that Sunday. Dude, you missed out on the Gardendale ride! that was the best, low key trail ride I've been on in years...even the kids (3 under 4) had fun!ZachMan said:LOL, either way lets just say it did :laugh2:
You gonna be at the Spring Fling?
Finally got my Rigidco on:
PS. you gotta spray that body color crossmember BLACK.....it kinda stands out dead center there...:twak:ZachMan said:
