In C-Ville? No shat? You get pulled over for looking the wrong way in that town. If he's never been pulled over in C-Ville then it MUST be legal, lol. Who knows. Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, if it has mirrors on it, I don't think I'll have a problem, but I don't want to get pulled period, soooo.....

There's some Jethro down here in Richmond that runs a hopped up 'yota with no doors. I see it come out every summer, even seen him pass by both local PD and VSP and they didn't pull him, so I guess doorless is legal in VA (?) You can always check the VSP website or call their safety division if you want to get a definate answer.

yeah, too bad we don't have a cop on this forum who's a jeeper that could tell us for sure. HA! then we'd all give him shit for being a cop! there's probably one out there, just too ashamed and is hiding! couse he know's his jeeps not legal either! =) just a thought.

Fawkers.... 5.0 here..... use a side view and you're good to go. I work in VA but live in MD where its even worse...... But remember... dickhead cops can pull you over and write you shit tickets..... just take em to court
And yeah smart ass my XJ is sooo not street legal.... thats why its registered in NC....LOL

Awesome! You know we're kiddding about the cop jokes, right? Cops are cool and we all know we need them. Thanks for your info and for doing your job.

I'm federal and don't like most 5.0 ... well the ones that have the "i'm better than you" attitude.....
And I love cop jokes....... keeps everything in perspective

Well shoot, Im the po-po too, granted Im military and wont be in VA until the end of April. My jeep isnt even close to legal either so dont feel bad. hehe

I live about an hour north of C-ville, and drive through there occassionally with no doors. Havent had any problems there or anywhere else in VA. You get some funny looks from people sometimes, but The Law hasnt ever said anything to me about it, so I (ASS-U-ME) that its ok. If the Wranglers and FJ-40s can do it, why cant we?

I dont think there would be a problem with running door-less. At least Ill never pull anyone over for it. I might still pull you over just to BS though!

I ran last summer doorless. Didn't have any problems, just got LOTS of strange looks!

Just make sure you have another mirror other than your rearview.

You live in VA and have to ask?
Let's be pragmatic about this;
Just park you car & continue to pay taxes on it.
Nothing is legal in VA. There is a State Trooper or Deputy Sherriff or city police every 3 miles in that state, and their #1 priority is to hassel everyone, everywhere, all the time.
No one really knows or cares. Just please sign your ticket here. Pay the fine by the date shown.
I know I can do without Virginia for the remainder of my life.

in virginia u only need a rear view mirror no side mirrors, and style of the door or no door doesnt matter

you sure 'bout that?

I'm in agreement with Fitch; I am pretty sure you need only two mirrors on the vehicle. I know some vans and trucks don't have rear view mirrors.

you need both side view mirrors to have no rear view mirror, or you need to have your left side view and rear view mirrors and no right side mirror. to pass va state inspection

you can run no doors as long as you have mirrors

to pass a virginia state safety inspection one of the things we look for is the lowest requirement which is a rear view mirror
