Talk to the police as soon as possible, if only to get a statement or anything recorded. Buy her a gun. Nobody should have to deal with this kind of stuff. Good luck.

Otherwise, both parties will end up liquidating their properties to pay the other their "half". And, like n1 said... if you can do this thorugh an arbitrator and not the lawyers, everyone will come out ahead. My divorce cost me nearly $14k in legal fees... and my ex about $3k. Arbitration would have cost about $5k total and would have netted basically the same result. But, if HE thinks he has some advantage by having a lawyer, he wil never opt for arbitration... and of course his lawyer will tell him not to anyway.
